This product was shipped with the wrong parts (e.i. speed ring) After purchasing the correct speed ring the assembly was impossible. The product was defective. I called Customer Service and they were extremely helpful. I returned the product and received a full refund. They even recommended an alternative Softbox for my needs that was less cumbersome. I purchased the softbox 24x36 and a 21" beauty dish. They work great. Thank you Customer Service department for all your help.

This softbox is great for the price, especially if it's going to be left setup in a studio. The material is very heavy and very stiff which makes setup a bit of a chore. The softbox isn't really stretched tight when put together giving it a bit of a flimsy feel and appearance. If it lives in a studio, who cares? If it's a mobile softbox, I could see this softbox getting old real quick. However, for the price, you will not be disappointed.

Loved the softbox but it wouldn't fit my Flashpoint 2 monolight. Speedring to small. Was told it must be defect so they sent me another one, but it had the same speedring. Told rep I just wanted one to fit and he just said "sorry it didn't work out" but I love this place and will keeping buying from them..... as long as I get my money back on the 2 Ive paid for. I will let you know, Mike

After reading the reviews I was hesitating to buy this big guy, but worst scenario I would just have to bring it back. At the beginning I found it tricky to put together, as everyone else, but once I figure it out it was piece of cake. I believe all the soft boxes have their own tricks. The fabric is strong and healthy for my taste. I've worked with some elinchrome that are delicate as flowers and I would say this is a tough one. So long review short I definitely recommended it if you're working on a budget. You won't be disappointed.

I read the other reviews so i was prepared for a piece of junk. What I got was a very nice soft box including the speedring for the flashpoint 2 light. Construction is good not great but acceptable for the price. it include an interior diffusion panel and and a velcro-on exterior panel. the rod pockets are small but seem well constructed. The internal rod guides are small and suspect but they do not take any strain so should not be an issue. Setup took me less then five minutes including attaching the interior diffusion panel and the external one. Three of the four rods are normal, the 4th has a small ball shaped end for the speeed ring and a small device that slides up and down the rod. Looking at the speed ring you see one of the rod holes has a slot cut into it, this is the hole for the ball rod. The sliding device slides down into the hole once the ball rod is inserted locking the rod in place. For easy disassembly just slide the device out of the hole away from the ball and let the rod pivot into the slot cut into the speedring. This removes the tension on the softbox and makes dissassembly a breeze. A very nice product for the money.

I was assured this was well constructed by customer support. It simply is not.

The softbox arrived without directions, I thought "no problem I have used and put together softboxes before." This softbox was unlike the other ones and in trying to straighten the last arm the side seam ripped. The material is not durable, it is a cheap plastic. I also do not like that it has to be all the way taken apart when packing it, that does not make it very portable. So I was disappointed when this all happened but what made it so frustrating was I have tried to contact the company and they have not responded!

If you're going to keep it assembled in a studio than I would recommend you to buy it. But if you're going to perform setup/tear-downs, get something else. It ripped on a seam after only two setups. But it does work. I'll just patch the tear and continue using it until it pays for another one. It was used with the photo attached with a 1220A Monolight, 600 Watt Strobe, shot with a D90.

This was my first large softbox. My studio was built to control light, and is all flat black inside the actual studio part. I missed not having window light though. The larger the light source, the softer the light. This is pretty soft, and wraps around so well. It works really well with children that move around. It is also big enough that it can be used as a background, which gives a neat effect.

This thing is huge! That is the first thing I wanted to say. I have not used a softbox this big in a very long time and honestly forgot how big it is. If you have a queen size bed it goes from one end of the bed to the other horizontally. It is big. The build is great the material is thick and will hold up to some abuse. The quality of the rods that hold together the softbox are also strong and flexible. Now people are complaining that it is hard to put together. Study the parts for about 2 mins. and you will see how easy it goes together. Hint to anyone that just bought it and is having trouble putting it together. The rods like I said are flexible, so grab them and bend them to make the speedring fit into the middle. Also, the speedring can be swapped out for the alien bee speedring, or anyone that has that 4 rod inserts. I think that is a plus!! The light output on this box is great. The light has a very nice wrap around. This box is even great for full body shots. Now the cons. The main thing is this box is a bit heavy but what do you expect from a box like this. I recommend a good light stand and a weight. Also, mount the light to the softbox before mounting it to the stand. My last con is there is no velcro on the outside of the box for a grid. This is a easy fix. Go out to a fabric store buy velcro and just attach it to the softbox. 5 dollar fix. This box is great for the price. I have used it almost everyday since I got it. I can take it apart and put it together in 5 mins by myself. Plus the speedring can be swapped is a big plus for me, because I love having photography gear, but when I have to have 2 diff softboxs to lug around its no fun.

This is my first softbox. It's a great value and does exactly what it's supposed to do, gives very nice soft light. The only negative is that it doesn't come with instructions, and I found it somewhat difficult to put together. I wasn't that bad though, and well worth it for the price.

Huge softbox for a fraction of the cost of others. What is there to say - it's a softbox, it's made well and does what it is supposed to for a great price.

Nice Large light modifier. I use it for fill. Can't beat the price. Most likely I wont shed a tear if it gets lost, stolen or falls apart in a year. However I don't see that happening as the construction seems sturdy enough after three location shoots. No assembly instructions included but I had no difficulty putting it together. In less than ten minutes I was shooting. Speedring seated well. Pleased with the results.

• The translucent light produced by these Softboxes has been the photographer's friend for over 10 years. While we haven't changed the beautiful light quality of our products, we have greatly improved the fabrics on our softboxes for still photography. These improvements come about through ongoing strobe bank development plus experience in building softboxes for the larger Flashpoint Monolights. The new fabrics are much more resistant to the effects of heat, age and pollution. The color temperature of this new softbox is near neutral, and will stay that way.
