The complaints about this box are unfounded in my opinion. These boxes aren't built like tanks, but they don't cost the price of tanks either. No question they're a bit of a pain to assemble...getting that last rod into the mounting collar is tricky every time. But while the fully-assembled box still shows wrinkles on the front diffuser, this is a cosmetic issue only. The light from these boxes is soft and even...and that's what you're buying them for. They may not last as long as some more expensive boxes...I don't know because mine are still new. But I could afford to buy several for the price of many competitors, so that's not a big deal to me. What counts is the light...and the light from these boxes is lovely.

Not worth the space it takes up in the studio, cheap fabric tares every time I try to assemble it. When it is together, the diffuser is loose and does not attach very well. It seems as if the support rods are to long for the soft box. I would not recommend this to anyone.

This is a very basic softbox. Construction is average. Frame of box is alittle weak and sags from the top. Overall for the price it produces nice soft light. Rotating speedring is nice. Box can be turned for full length portraits or group shots. Assembly wasn't bad. Took around 5 minutes fisrt time.

The softbox is large, as expected. Comes with a ring light, 4 rods, outer covering with silver interior, internal and external diffuser, no caring case is provided. Assembly is very standard for soft boxes. It takes a some strength to get the last rod in place. The material seems strong enough. The internal diffuser attaches with metal hooks that are hard to attached and detach. The outer diffuser attaches to the softbox with Velcro. What I don't like about the box is that it has no engineering behind it besides the classic softbox design. It takes a long time to setup and tear down. Where many other soft boxes have moved to a more umbrella design or rods that are attached with a lot less hassle this one is has the same design as older soft boxes from 20 years ago. The material is good and the design is not bad, it is just the same as all the cheap soft boxes you find on the market. As far as the pictures are concern it works very nice and provides very soft light for portraits. The ring light lets the softbox to be rotated and that is nice. I would recommend with reservations. The price seems right.

Great softbox for the value. Easy to put together, and foldable for carrying around.

• The translucent light produced by these Softboxes has been the photographer's friend for over 10 years. While we haven't changed the beautiful light quality of our products, we have greatly improved the fabrics on our softboxes for still photography. These improvements come about through ongoing strobe bank development plus experience in building softboxes for the larger Flashpoint Monolights. The new fabrics are much more resistant to the effects of heat, age and pollution. The color temperature of this new softbox is near neutral, and will stay thatstay that way.
