Love dealing with these guys. Lots of help from the phone support and they were able customize a package to meet my needs. The Passover holiday was a bummer but oh well.

So far so good! Could use a little more power but works very well in a small studio.

WHY ON EARTH does this kit NOT come with the necessary umbrella adaptors? Why? And why didn't the salesman point that out when specifically asked what accessories might be needed with this kit?

This was the first studio strobe setup that I've purchased. I've used profoto and white lightning units in the past. Obviously at the price point we're not talking about comparable products there, but what I got was more than I expected. I've had this set for about 6 months now and have used it a lot. First the small "budget studio flash": Does it have a lot of power... no. Is it very adjustable... no. However it is good at what it does. I use it for halo lighting and creative lens flare, and it works great. If you're running a small studio with the right attachments I'm sure this light would be suitable to use as a key/fill light. My biggest surprise was about 20 minutes ago I had it sitting on my desk in my studio and accidently knocked it off the where it fell and hit the hard ceramic tile from about 3ft. It still works, flawlessly. So as "cheap" as it might look or feel, it's pretty solid to be able to handle that. 320M strobes: These units are quite solidly built. Have good adjustability, great power for their small size and only being 150ws. Recycle time on them at full power is about 1 second, at about half power I can get a 3 shot burst off without waiting for recycle. A lot of people get concerned with using monolights with the flash slave because sometimes the slave cant always sense the flash if they're blocked by a soft box or umbrella, I have not had any problem with that at all. I have used these lights as my key, my fill, and my background lights. They work great for portraits up close and even full body shots. Color temp. and power output are very consistent. Light Stands: The stands are sufficient. Not anything really special, I wouldn't trust the air absorption on them. No real concerns with them, they're stable and support the lights without a problem. Umbrellas: The umbrella's are very nice. With the black covering on they are a soft white reflective umbrella with a very consistent output across the umbrella (no real hotspots). With the black covering off (very easily removed) they become a nice soft white shoot-through umbrella. I love using the shoot-through for lighting my backdrops, especially for lighting for a perfectly white backdrop and blowing out any imperfections or creases or wrinkles in a white backdrop. Lighting Case: Very nice, sturdy zipper. Well attached handles. Nicely padded. I've fit 3-320M monolights, 1-620M monolight, the budget studio flash, 5 lightstands, 2 umbrellas, barndoors, cables, reflectors, extension cord, and power-strips, to be able to carry one nice tidy package for location.

Received this setup Dec. 6, 2012. So far couldn't be happier. At full power flashes recycle in less than a second. Power output it more than adequate for a small studio setting. Mind you I write this with the fact in mind of budget and purpose. This is an extremely good setup for a small studio. The stands are a bit short if you want to do some high lighting work. I typically shoot at ISO 200 which for all practical purposes doubles the effective output of the lights, therefore allowing the lights to be used from about 20ft away quite successfully with. While I don't typically shoot with the lights at this distance, it CAN be done. I have not had any problems with firing, the sensor triggers have worked flawlessly. The equipment is adquately built, not too flimsy, but its not solid as a rock either. I definitely caution having lights set high on stands with kids running around, they won't tip with a light bump, or normal situations, but a kid bumps it a good one they'll tip. It is an all around good setup, especially for a beginner on a budget. The quality for the price CAN'T be matched. The light output, consistency, color-temp consistency are all spot on. If you're a beginner just getting into studio strobes, or a semi-pro looking for a good portable kit, I don't think anyone would be upset with this! NOTE: I have not used these to for a total outside shoot so I can't speak to their capability of overpowering the sun, however I have done indoor shoots with the sun blaring through the windows, and it did fine to overpower in that instance.
