Just Right!

This tripod is the best one that I have ever owned plus it looks like it will hold up well over time. I use this in my videography business and it makes making quick adjustments a breeze.

Fantastic video tripod. Sturdy, smooth and extra height make it perfect for my soccer videos.

Quite good for the price

from Grand Rapids, MI  -  Semi-pro Photographer

This tripod is sturdy, quite large (at least 6 feet when legs are extended), and well built for the price. The pan and tilt are smooth, although the tilt is very stiff and there isn't a drag adjustment knob. Other than that, though, it's great. Well done, Adorama/Flashpoint.

Very nice tripod and do recommend

from Philadelphia, Pa.  -  Pro Photographer

This head is very fluid and reasonable... Okay, so the handle for the control of the head does not lock in place and has a small learning curve so you can control movements without rotating the handle at the same time (would be nice if they had a lock for the handle). The screw that mounts the camera to the plate also does NOT come with a "loop" that most plates have and you will need a coin or a screw driver to secure your camera (not a big deal). The screw that locks the sliding plate in place is also so close to top of head that you have to make sure to have screw almost fully tightened before mounting camera as it will hit underside of camera if camera is at the rear of slide when mounted (again not a big deal). Pros, the slide has a double stop so if the nut that locked slide failed the ''stops" would stop camera from sliding off the front or rear of fluid head. Height fully extending is a stable platform and it looks and feels that way. It has two level bubbles (one for the legs and one for the fluid head) then it also has a screw knob that you adjust to fine tune your camera if you are using your camera's built in level (where applicable). The video you see attached here was with only 15 minutes use and this was very easy to get comfortable with. Do recommend this product.

Questions about this item:

joshua h  I just purchased a SONY NEX VG900 and want to know if the 3Pod V2AH tripod is an appropriate choice?
JAMES V  It depends. When I bought the V3AH, I thought I can get the best for cheap. Not really. IN the end, you get what you pay for. The V3AH is a great tripod if you need it as a backup or for still shots that does not require any movement for long periods of time. What makes the V3AH hard to use is that when you are panning up and down, you have to use your left hand to lock it in place constantly. Whereas the Mantfrotto heads like the 502HD, you can pan up and down and it holds it in place where the V3ah does not.
C B  I just received one of these. How do you adjust pan and tilt drag? There are knobs for pan and tilt locking, but I don't see a way to adjust drag. The tilt is very stiff and the pan is pretty loose and I'd like to even them out.
JAMES V  I have the same issue. If you have the Manfrotto 502HD, which I have, you will have settings to adjust drag. The V3AH is a great tripod but it has lots of problems when you want to do classic panning. I use the V3AH for emergency purposes but not for my main shoot. I use the Manfrotto in the end.
John m  Is there a fluid head for video with a flat base that uses the same plate as the v3ah?
CHRISTOPHER S  I doubt if you could use a Manfrotto fluid head on the 3Pod V2AH or take the 3Pod plate and put it on another head.
