This little guy (300w/s) is plenty of power. Add two of these a softbox, and an umbrella and your set. You dont need anymore power than 300w/s unless your shooting a group of 10 or more people. I use it at half power for head shots and two-three persons portraits. No need for [$] thousand watt units. Waste of money unless your shooting a family reunion of 25-30 people.

Charge time is a little slow, but the color has been consistent. My Alien Bees have sweepable power down to 1/32nd, but the FlashPoint only goes to 1/16th. For the price, I can live with it. Power is pretty consistent. If you can't afford an Alien Bees setup, this would be a good option.

A great value for the money. Professional kit at an inexpensive price. I was delighted at the quality.

Overall it's a pretty good light for the money. Not bad as a starter light, or for use as back ups. However, you cannot use the cover once you've attached the modeling lamp, which means you transport the light with the flash tube, and modeling lamp exposded. Also, the stand that it came with is VERY flimsy and should not be used at full extension.

The recycle time was great and my colors are very consistant. I can batch process a set of images without worrying about color inconsistancies. The included stands do seem a bit flimsy as does the braces that allows you rotate the head up and down. Overall though, I can't complain about this purchase. It's a great inexpensive way to have quality lights. Must have for the person on a budget, like me.

It a great light. Fast recycle time, good color temp and sensitive triggering. Softboxes are difficult to attach. Would have liked a carring case included, even if the price had to increase.

This is my first monolight and it was even better than what I was expecting. I definitely am planning to buy at least one more to increase my lighting options!

I'm very satisfied with this light. It performs consistently, recycles quickly, and offers good control of light output. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive way to get into stuidio lighting.

I really like the quick setup and take down of these lights. I've used them for multiple weddings now and they have worked great. The only problem I've had so far is that one of the monolighs does not sync well with my camera. I always have to have one of them triggered by flash anyways since I don't have radio slaves yet, so it hasn't been an issue, but I'm going to have to look further into this to make sure there isn't a serious problem.

Exactly what I wanted. I've done a lot of research prior to my purchase and this was the best value for the money. I couldn't believe everything that came with it. Once I opened it up I started working with them and have a hard time putting them away. Works great with my Canon Rebel XT.

Considering the relatively low cost, I have been very happy with images produced while using this strobe. Recycle time is not perfect, but very good. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is on a budget or just needs a backup strobe.

This unit is an excellent value for its light output. Its an even better value when purchased as a package with the lightstand and umbrella.

Have been using these lights for 2 years now. Still on the original flashtubes. Have taken over 3000 shots. (mostly team photos - hockey) Charges fast enough, good consistent color output, solid body, built in fans. Work very well with radio triggers. I haven't had a single issue with these lights. In fact, I just bought a 3rd one for some more studio work.

I have three of these, On buying them. I had to return two before got one's that all had a quick recycle. Now the power board is fried on one which it is going to be cheaper to but a new head, but it sucks to have to replace a head after a year and a half. They are have been good up until this. I do recommend them for budget photographers starting out.

I purchased these from another photographer early 2006. I am very pleased with it. No problems and very reliable. I only wish the unit was a little smaller. Maybe the size of Alien Bees. That's my only complaint (but not really a complaint).

I've used these lights for over a year now and they've been very good. Rugged and reliable. I've taken them on assignment and they travel well.

Very inexpensive and extremely good quality and light output is exceptional. Don't be fooled by the price the quality is there. I've had these lights for over a year and a half. I haven't had any problems with the bulbs at all. If you're looking for quality on a budget. Go with these lights.

Flashpoint Monolights are designed with the latest in high-tech features. They are compact, lightweight and deliver the performance that gives you a definite competitive edge. All at a fraction of the cost of heavier power pack units. Monolights are self contained, they do not require being hooked-up to a central power pack. That means no more wires winding throughout the whole studio. They have proportional halogen modeling lamps, variable flash power settings, audible flash-ready signals and built-in slaves.
