More Than Adequate For Semi Pro

By

Consider the money well spent for this monolight. You get just right power for a standard portrait setting. Used with the 27" beauty dish this is a superb addition to any setup. I will eventually mount this on a C stand, but with the addition of few weights this does the job well. By the way. The build quality is superb.

Cheap does not mean not good

This my first strobelight and I bought this unit after reading the first review on Adorama. So far, I am very please with the result I get with this unit. The unit is powerfull and sturdy and recycles fast. I am looking forward to getting lots of pictures with it. I am also planning to by two extra strobes in the near future.

Great Value

By

I was pleasantly surprised with this kit. While there may be better monolights out there, this has an exceptional price to value ratio. It feels very well built (aluminum case and quality switches) and it performs great (powerful with very quick refresh). The stand seems very sturdy and the umbrella works well for bouncing or shoot-through. It came with a long sync cable and AC/DC power cords. It also has a sturdy protective guard that covers the modeling light/flash tube when not in use. For those who are less experienced, it even comes with a well-done color booklet titled, "The Flashpoint Guide to Studio Lighting," illustrating various lighting setups. This monolight is powerful enough to meet most small to medium studio needs. I recommend it, and I'm pleased enough with it that I'm going to buy a Flashpoint II 320M to use as a fill/backup flash.

Questions about this item:

ALAN K  I have a Canon T1i/500D. I'm not too knowledgeable about studio lighting, but how would I sync this light wirelessly with my camera?
PAUL K  You can set the light to slave mode, and your pop-up flash will set it off. But probably you don`t want to use your pop-up, so you need a set of radio triggers. The set will come with a transmitter that attaches to the camera, and a receiver that attaches to the light. This works great. You will need to be shooting in Manual for this to work correctly.
Shopper  I recently purchase the Flashpoint Monolight and since my Canon T4i does not have a PC port I also purchased an adaptor to enable me to use the sync cord. I have been able to get the Monolight to trigger but not consistantly and I am unable to determine if it's user error or if there is something wrong with the Monolight. Just to confirm...The Flashpoint M620 should be compatible with my camera, correct?
GEORGE M WILSON I  I've never used the sync through a cord. I've always used the hot shoe and remote triggers. Used to use Yongnuo and had issues with reliability, but now I've got pocket wizard X's. They work great and fire every time.
