Works but poorly designed storage cover
I purchased my Bright Beam 1000 light a la carte, sans kit.
It includes a built-in fan; its instructional booklet states that these lights are DEADLY QUIET. Instead, the noise level is more similar to that of a hair dryer set to its lowest power setting.
The light is shipped with a plastic cone-shaped storage cover that has a ½-inch diameter hole at its top center. If you attach this protective cover to the Bright Beam along with its quartz bulb, the bulb will protrude about 1/16-inch out. Even with this cover, I still see the bulb getting possibly damaged during storage or transport. I always remove the bulb after each use.
I also purchased the Flashpoint II FP2BD Four-Leaf Barndoor. These barndoors seem to be a universal fit for various reflectors. When attached to the Bright Beam 1000, the barndoors' interior circle frame covers approx. one-inch of the light reflector opening, resulting in about a ½-stop light loss without any of the barndoors being utilized!
The barndoors I received used two adjusting screws and a long wire clip to attach to the Bright Beam reflector. I replaced these two screws with shorter ones, as both shipped-screws protruded out too far, making them somewhat of a hassle to transport/store in a case.
