CHRISTIE N : I'm in search of a really solid tripod head for my 5D MK II and 24-70 2.8 lens to attach to this bike bracket. I plan on filming a bike shoot with this. What would you recommend?
Thanks for your time,
Christie :)MARTIN W : I use the Sunpak 620-711 Medium Tripod Ball Head, nice unit. Big ball, wide camera contact area, and nice big thumb screw. I see Adorama has it for $24.95, good value for a strong aluminum mount.WILLIAM H : It should work, but I've never put such a heavy camera on it. I was using it with a light "point and shoot" (Pentax Optio W60 / W80) for video. Now I'm using GoPro Hero HD's which mount on the bars directly.ERIC S : I have a Kirk BH-3 ball head and mounted it to this bracket to see if it would work (it fit). I didn't actually use it in that configuration so I can't say how well it would actually work, but I'd think it would take a larger head like the BH-3 to support body & lens you intend to use.MARTIN W : The flashpoint bike bracket is a good price point, high quality, and substantial camera mount. I'm certain that the unit would support your Canon quite well if you didn't use too long a lens and the roads were relatively smooth. Use a wide angle to reduce vibration and rolling shutter during video. For stills use a fast shutter speed.
I am very pleased with the service I have gotten from my mount and think you would agree after having it for awhile.
