Very good, great price
All around very good kit, hardware has good fit and finish. The stands are sturdy and work smoothly. The stands could be used as light stands except the top stud is an M10x1.5 thread, and all my umbrella brackets are 3/8-16 threads so the brackets don't fit. I'll probably make an adapter sometime. The case is well designed; the outside is a very good nylon fabric with good zippers. There is some vinyl on the inside dividers, but it should be okay. built Cheap, waist of your $$$
This is a cheap background support system. The two stands are weak and flimsy; I would not trust this extended with a 9' foot roll of paper, and defiantly not with a 12' roll. The carrying case that it came in ripped within the 2nd time of use

Great price for a lightweight compact support system. Super quick assembly, everything fit perfect. Strong, held an entire roll of new paper 107" wide x 12 yards no problem, no sag, no bending. Used sandbags. The case doesn't quite fit the stands unless you force compress them, so I just leave it open on the top. Super happy with this support system.
The stands are heavy duty but the overhead bar was not. The pins that line up on the bar were not drilled correctly and I had to modify the bar so it would lock into place and not fall down.
Solid background set, too heavy... heavier than other very sturdy sets. Air cushined stnds woudl be nice, but these are spring loaded which is... not so great.
This was a gift for my wife. She is a professional longarm quilter. She had no way to hang her quilts for phorographing and cataloging. The Flashpoint Background Support is the perfect solution. Lightweight, portable, and firmly holds large, heavy, quilts.
I'm a professional photographer for over 15 years and have used many different types of background stand/crossbar setups. This one is excellent for what I paid ([$]). Cross bar is sturdy and made well. The stands and crossbar don't collapse down as compactly as the more expensive competition but its a small issue considering the build quality and price. The stand sections have a bit of a springiness to the sections which make it feel almost like air cusioned stands but they're not really. All comes in a nice simple background stand bag.
First, seeing this product from the photo on the web site, it looks pretty small and easy to carry. However, the crossbars and stands are designed larger than I thought. That makes this product long and bulky. But because of the length, it's more variable on different sizes of application. Especially to prepare a background setting from portrait to group or large object.
Unit works well, goes up easy. Pretty tough, used it for a shoot last weekend that was to be inside, turned out to be outside. The wind kicked up about half way thru and blew down one stand. Just stood the stand back up and ratchet strapped both stands to a trailer. No damage to the stand. The stands are strong enough to be pretty versatile, the cross pieces are strong enough for a back drop and a small flash unit to use as a hair light. The case is a little cheap, no major problems but it is showing some wear.
I use this product as part of my home studio. It is very sturdy and fits my needs.
I use this in my travel kit, it supports two cloth backdrops ok,the springs in the stands and some of the pieces came apart almost upon initial use, but with duct tape and glue it does the job, The case still functions after 6 months of heavy use, You definately get what you pay for here, and for the price I would purchase it again, I don't think it would work well for paper rolls but I haven't tried it, It has held up for six months of heavy use , but not as well as I would have liked.
I use the product for indoor, outdoor studio sessions. The only downfall is that it could not retract some more when not in use...
