Flashpoint's BiColor 312B on-camera portable LED light provides action videographers and still photographers who use DSLR's and HD camcorders with a bi-color wide wash of extended illumination from a standard 60° spread. The precision color temperature dial regulates between 3200-5600K to provide lightening fast solutions for the 'run and gun' shooters, moving from one lighting situation to the next ambient environmental challenge. The twin power options uses almost any capacity industry standard Sony or Panasonic type lithium battery cells and doubles your staying presence in the field. Our LED lights provide visually accurate color temperatures, flicker-free output, and nocolor shift when dimming. When used outdoors, the small, self-contained LED light produces copious fill light to alleviate deep shadows, while blending ambient available light to add modeling to subjects.

One of the brightest advances in technology is the advent of the light-emitting diode (LED), a two-lead semiconductor light source. When an appropriate voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron 'holes' within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light is determined by the specific energy band gap of the semiconductor.

LEDs are small, durable and need little power, so they are used in LED strobe lights or continuous camera lights without detrimental heat output, and operate at a safe, low voltage, instead of the 250+ volts commonly found in xenon strobe tube-based lighting. This is especially useful in lighting for videographers, where space is at a premium and bulky voltage-raising circuitry is undesirable.
