It came with a full battery and I've had 4 sessions and it still has a full battery! I did not want a flash that required buying batteries all the time. This works perfectly with my Sony a7rii. I was worried about a slow recycle time but this recycles really fast. I haven't missed a shot yet.

I bought the flash months ago and noticed that on occasion that the flash shorts out. It causes my Nikon D700 screen to blank for a few seconds. It flashes by itself on occasion. What is the cause of this.

I purchased this flash for my Nikon D3, first off the power output for bouncing light works just fine ,no complaints.second is downloaded upgrade that allows for use is fantastic, the download from adorama just never worked, but I went Good website and downloaded the firmware from there and it works perfect.it only been 2 weeks ,I have 2 weddings in July and I report to you after. Otherwise yes I'm looking forward to getting another one of these flashes,oh before I forget, the battery is the biggest selling point it recycles this flash like you have a battery pack??

I have 3 of these unites. Overall great flash. These units offer reliable TTL metering, an amazing amount of flashes per charge, and live up to the super fast recycle times. If you're looking to add portable firepower to your kit, these unites will not disappoint.

I purchased 3 of the flashes and all of them have broken at the foot of the flash. I would not recommend anyone purchase this flash until they fix the problem

I would recommend this product to all professional photographers, reason is you can save $360 compare to paying for a Nikon SB910 flash. I bought 2 flashes for my Nikon 24-70mm camera and 70-200mm camera to shoot weddings. I like quick recycling time and holding 300 shots in one charge. Only complaint I have is that Operation Manual is too small and you need magnifying glass to read it. Particularly, I got confused when reading how to set up remote flash off camera. Diagram of buttons are not accurate. But over all I am very satisfied of my purchase.

Works as described. The battery lasts a long time, even at full power. The remote is a must have.

Easy to use inexpensive flash, the iTTL works great, just hook it onto the camera and the camera sets everything.

Five stars for this flash. It does more than I expected. I especially like the auto flash adjustment it makes according to the ambient background lighting. I'm still learning to use it, so I'm sure I'll find more surprises that make my "flash life" easier.

Measured guide number 1/3rd stop less than SB800, but still very good. First tried CLS at a reception hall, set two of the strealights as slaves triggered by on camera SB800 in master CLS mode. Even in the plane line of sight inside a reception hall the CLS slave wont trigger if the master is more than 20 feet way and directly facing towards the slave, i.e not in ounce mode or other mode where on camera master is not looking straight at the slaves. So I forgot about this feature and used it as on camera iTTL mode on my D4s in next wedding. Worked like a charm. I got 800 shots all in iTTL -1EV to -2/3rd EV comp mode at F4 before the battery ran out. The recharge time was as fast as I get from my SB800 with 5th battery in addition to Youngnuo HV power supply using another 8 AA battery in power pack. I am keeping both strealight as I dont have to carry powerpack for quick recycle. BTW: the Camera Exif shows this flash as SB900 without any FV compensation value or mode details. I upgraded to the Firmware from Godox website. The user manual with the box was for different model, so I used the user manual for VINGV860n downloaded from web. Overall duee to quick recylce time and low price I am keeping it and thinking of buying 2 more in near future.

Just got it and haven't had much time to play with it yet but there are a couple things I am having issues with. I have a Nikon D600 and do a lot of nightlife event photography so I use the AF Assist all the time. Which apparently only works in Auto Area Focus and not Single Point. Thought a firmware update might fix which brings me to problem number two... Since this is just a re-branded Godox flash, there is no FlashPoint website, even tho manual says go to website to get firmware updates. Once I found the update, I could not get drivers to install on Windows 10. Overall... good price and features and great if you don't need the AF Assist beam. Also, the zoom is quite loud, and when using AF Assist seems a little slow. Might keep as an off camera flash paired with my Yongnuo YN62N2's unless I can find a better

I wish I had bought this flash 5 years ago. Adding it to my bag has given me better light control. The TTL is great. I have used it on 2 jobs and so far I can not imagine not having it. Although many photographers frown on using on camera flash, I highly recommend trying this out. It will change your mind.

I have only used the unit a few times, but results have been good. Rapid response time. Seems to be relatively solid build. I would recommend for hobby photographers like myself.

If you're in a budget or do not work professionally with flash or artificial light, this is a great flash speedlight option.

One of only a few lithium options out there. Much better than AA batteries. The flashes have been perfect since my May 2015 purchase. If they had a radio transmitter built in, they would be perfect.

Used the flash fort first time last nite Seems to take longer from when I press the trigger than it did with my old strobe. Love the recovery time though fiired off three pix in rapid succession with strobe hanging right in there. Lots of power.

This Flashpoint strobe works just as expected on my Nikon bodies. A great product for the price. The menus are more accessible than the menus on Nikon's own strobes and the cost is considerably less. It functions nicely as a slave strobe using my on-camera strobe as the master. I have not tried it using one or more of my Nikon strobes as a slave, but I assume it will work equally well. My only complaint is they don't list a web site where you can download their manual of get a software upgrade. Adorama sent me this site to download the manual, but, so far, I have not discovered an actual FlashPoint web site. http://www.adorama.com/col/productManuals/FPLFSMZLNK.pdf Caveat emptor!

Impressive flash for the price point. Even better with the wireless transfer/rec thrown in. Haven't used long enough to get a real sense of battery life and reliability, but certainly do like the idea of single battery pack vs AA batteries. Wireless function has not failed and slave fires reliability. TTL hasn't been used yet, I shoot in manual so I'll edit the review when I play around with the feature. Hope to use PWs soon and test compatibility. As I said before, great deal and so far a solid flash system.

No more AA batteries to carry with me. This flash attachment is easy to use and has worked every time. I used to have to wait between pictures until my other flash unit charged. This one is very fast and ready for the next picture almost immediately. I recommend it highly.

I acquired this speedlight following a review in Shutterbug's September 2015 issue by Professional Photographer Joe Farace whom I have high regard and respect for. Moreover, I bought this light to accompany a flash point strobe 320M and for the price points the lighting and control are excellent and produce the type of images I desire. I love the power of this speedlight - GN112 and the fact that it can also be controlled by other Nikon speedlights through 16 channels and 16 groups. Great Flash will buy again. Mine came with transmitter and receiver for the price of the flash. Bought at Adorama - Elsewhere I would have only received the flash unit. Great Flash - Great Value for money - Great Store.

I have been using this flash for a while now and I have been enjoying it non-stop. I recently bought a flashpoint 620m studio monolight with pocket wizard plus x's. Come to find out that the PW X does not connect to this flash at all, even using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, the PW X doesn't get the flash to fire at all. Only way i can get both my monolight and this speedlight to fire is using the commander set for this flash and setting the sensor to the (on) position on my monolight to fire. Would really like to know a way to get these pocketwizards to work with this speedlight. Taking 1 star off because of it.

You can now use this strobe in HIGH SPEED SYNC with our new High Speed Sync transmitter For Nikon FPRRR2RN
The Flashpoint Zoom Li-on TTL Flash for Nikon represents a novel breakthrough in speedlight technology while featuring full connectivity and interaction with all Nikon strobe functions. From standard iTTL, to Exposure Compensation, High SpeedSync, and an automatically zooming flashhead, all the way to complete IR TTL control connectivity with other Nikon flashes, group control, Slave and Master options, and advanced flash functions, the Zoom Li-on flash takes you as far as you want it to go.
The key component that makes this flash stand apart from others is the Lithium IonPolymer battery with exponentially more power than AA batteries of any type, while fitting into roughly the same amount of space. Packing an amazin g 11.1 volts and 2000mAh, this battery can power your flash longer and with faster recycle than any shoe mount speedlight on the market. Full power recycle times are less than 1.5 seconds, even if you fire 5 full power sh n fast succession! One completely charged battery can deliver up to 650 of those full power shots. Even in iTTL mode, you can try to drain the battery, but the Zoom Li-on keeps on going strong.
Besides TTL and manual control, there are 2 optical slave modes, and a stroboscopic mode as well. The metal shoe features a locking pin, so even if the foot is not tightened properly it will not accidentally fall off of the camera or mount. Remote power control using a Flashpoint Commander and Receiver allows you to view and change your flash output as you shoot as well as trigger the flash and adjust other functions from more than 150 feet away, for extreme off camera work.
The simple layout and familiar controls make using this flash intuitive. The flashhead rotates 180 degrees in any direction and tilts over 90 degrees for any type of bounce or modifier use. The head zooms automatically or manually from 24-105mm, to ensure the necessary coverage without wasted spill. The buuilt in pull out wide angle diffuser spspreads light evenly for use with lenses wider than 24mm to 14mm.
With a charge time of just 2.5 hours and enough juice to run you through even the most difficult shoots,(and extra batteries available, ) this high powered, speedy recycling, compact and durable Lithium Ion battery powered iTTL flash is sure to become a pivotal part of your photography equipment lineup.
