For 9.95 you get the perfect tool for triggering an off camera flash with manual settings. Can't say too much because it works as advertised and is very easy to set up. Perfect to the advanced photographer who wants off camera flash capability at a very low cost.

The price scared me a little but Flashpoint makes some great products. I tested the set on a simple product shoot and it works great. The range is good and resets itself quickly. I would definitely recommend this product.

Very easy to use and set up. I don't have any concerns with this. Shipping was slower than usual, but that was due to the holiday season pile up.

I use these transmitters for both my Godox 850 flashes as well as my Flashpoint AD180 Streaklight. Can never go back to infrared once you've used radio transmitters! These are reliable and allow me to adjust the power level on-camera. No brainer, complete game changer in my lighting kit. They are affordable and well made. Has made my portable lighting set up a breeze.

What I love about the Flashpoint R1 Transmitter and Receiver Set is you can adjust the power output from the transmitter. And if you're using more than one flash you can set them on different channels and adjust each one individually. You can even turn them off. From the Transmitter.

I was impressed with Transmitter/Receiver combination that came with my Zoom Flashpoint iTTL Nikon Flash. It was easy to upgrade the firmware on the flash to High Speed Sync but you do need either a Windows computer but I was able to do on my Mac with Parallels Virtual Machine Windows 10. I have two of these and are great in setting up quick studio with two flashes. If you have modifiers like soft boxes they work very well!

Made the mistake of bringing these out cold to shoot. Looked like a duffus because they didn't work. I managed without the HSS. Got them home to see what went wrong and found if I was touching one of the antennas it would work, otherwise it didn't. Returned them with no hassle at all for the R2 system. Works much better.

I used these on a recent maternity shoot and loved them. I have the zoom ion flashes and was able to adjust the one in my software without having to go to the light was incredible. For me they are a very good deal.

I bought this unit with the Flashpoint ZoomLion package. I was very disappointed with it. It lacked clear instructions and set up. In addition, it only works with Flashpoint products. Since it came free with the flash I didn't mind it. Fast forward and I bought the Yongnuo YN-622N and YN-622TX for my Nikon, I opened the box put the batteries and it automatically started working. The Yongnuo is WAY more simple to use and control other flashes remotely. In fact, the Yongnuo can control other manufactures flashes AND it does HSS. Would not spend ($) on this when I can get one commander and three (3) triggers for $160 with the Yongnuo brand.

Works great and much cheaper than Pocketwizard. There are cheaper Chinese made equivalents, but their cheap price dictates a cheap product. The Flashpoint products are all high quality. The only drawback I see is that the "channel" dials on the transmitter and receiver are both very easy to change by accident. I always have to check to see that they're on the right channel.

I recently bought the FlashPoint Flash with came with this receiver. Eventhough I am a beginner, I have gotten pretty good at using off camera flashes. However, this remote turned out to be a pain to use with my D610. I read the instructions inside and out and still can get it to work. I can have the remote flashes fire, but cant control the flash on manual mode from the transmitter itself. Instructions that came with the trasmitter were rudimentary at best.

Have used this transmitter with the flash. Works quite well and has good range. The only problem is the control settings do not have a lock on either the transmitter or the module attached to the flash, so they are easy to change unknowingly. Other than that, its a great unit.

So far everything works fine as advertised, but I was disappointed not the have remote High Speed Sync. Flashpoint does now have an HSS remote that does support high speed sync, which I also purchased.

First off Love the product. I have shot about 10 weddings now with the units and they work great. If you are looking for only manual flash and the ability to control your flashes output than this is a great setup. I use multiple of these flashpoint flashes to do my room lighting at reception's. I also use the same transmitter to control my streaklight 360's also. The transmitter works flawlessly when using them with my streaklights for portrait work. They also work flawlessly in most reception venues. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS THEY WILL NOT FIRE ALL THE TIME IF YOU GET THEM TO FAR AWAY FROM THE TRANSMITTER. This has only been a factor for me when doing very large reception venue's that hold like 400 plus guest. I have not measured how far they work correctly but I am guessing it's more like 80 ft or so when they start not firing consistently. They do not work as far a distance as pocket wizards or the other system I have used. I included a picture that shows the setup I use at receptions . This is one of those receptions that the flash would not fire consistently because of the distance.THAT BEING SAID I STILL GAVE THE SET 5 STARS. Because most situations they perform flawlessly and you can't beat the price.

Picked up another set of these to go with my Flashpoint flashes and absolutely love this set. They aren't the highest durable quality pieces and I won't expect them to last 20 years, but for the bang for your buck, this is the best. Real simple to control flash power from the commander so you dont have to walk all the way over to your flash. And since it is radio triggered, you dont have to be right up on the flash. Even works from behind walls and from long distances.

I do a lot of outdoor photography of not only wild life but products as well so this flash unit has been fantastic so far and is so much easier to set up than my studio lights fo small subjects

Remote power control your Flashpoint Zoom Li-on Flash using a Flashpoint Commander Transmitter and Receiver, allowing you to view and change your flash output on-the-fly from 150+ feet away for off camera lighting, as well as trigger the flash remotely and adjust other functions. 16 channels to avoid interfering with other photographers, and 16 groups of control to allow custom multi-unit remote lighting setups. The transmitter now has a 3.5mm sync port direct cable connection to a camera PC socket, enabling triggering without being mounted on the hot shoe.
