Questions & Answers

Richard H : Will this fit on the Canon 600RT flash? No mention on either the A or B series as to whether it is compatible. It shows the old 580EX and EXII but nothing for the 600RT.LAWRENCE S : Yes, it does fit.CYNTHIA A : I don't know. I have the old 580EX which is what I used it on, so I couldn't answer that question.ANNA G : I'm sorry, but I purchased this for a Nikon SB900, so I cannot say. The box does say it fits the Canon 580 though, and nothing else,GWIL E : This fits the Nikon SB 900 and SB910 nicely. I'm not acquainted with the size of Canon flash units, but the reflector fastens with flexible plastic prongs that are then cinched with hook-and-loop fastener. So there is a good deal of flexibility with respect to mating to a flash unit.ROEL A : Yes, I have both the 580 EX II 600 RT and the does fit them both. ZEB S : Not sure, I am a Nikon shooter. It just slips on to the head of the flash and has a Velcro strap to secure so if the flash head size is similar to what they advertise it should fit.
WILLIAM E : what flashes does the "B" series fit?JOMARY R : If fit great with my SB900 although I dont use it much I would like to learn.KIRTE K : Bill, a list of compatible flashes appears on the product description page.MAREK S : I use with Canon Flash - 580EX II, I believe it fits Nikon SB-600 Speed light Flash too.ROCKY R : I bought the b-dish for my Canon 580 II speedlite. The dish works really well.DAN M : I use it on a Canon 580 EXII and love it!!!WILLIAM S : The Beauty Dish I bought was part of a set of what Joe McNally calls "light shaping tools". That set fits the Canon 580EX and 580EXII, and Joe told us (and showed us) that it fits the Nikon brand shoe mounted flashes (at least the last two models, probably others as well. There may be other brands of flashes with the same dimensions that would also work. (And by the way, the Beauty Dish works great for me.) William StylerROD P : Hello Bill E. I have been using this on a Nikon SB 900 but it would readily fit on any flash from the SB 600-SB 910. I am not familiar with Canon flashes but am certain that they too would fit. Be sure to consider the accessory kit as well as the snoot and diffuser dome. They are great adjuncts to this system. Trust me, I have no connections to Adorama and get absolutely nothing for relating this to you. It is simply that I am quite pleased with this system and Adorama's support in general. Rod PittsNita G : I use it on my 580EX and 530 EXII Canon flashes.PAULO P : It does feet in Nikon SB700, 800, 900 & 910, also in Canon 430 ex and 580exART F : I use it on my SB900's and my SB700's... works well and others who have used it, I often share it to show people how it works, love the light it gives out... Good Stuff...STEVEN W : I use mine on a Canon 580EXII. It fits the 580EX, and I would assume it fits Nikon flashes as well.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?PHILIP R : I saw it in use by Joe McNally in a Kelby Training video. Nice compact dish.BRAD M : Seen it in use with outstanding results, have put it in use withe the same outstanding results. One more tool in the bag.STEVEN H : I am always looking for different light modifiers for my flash units.

The best small flash diffuser

I have used many small flash diffusers this is the best ever! It creates a soft fill perfect for balancing available light. It creates a nice round catchlight. The only thing it isn't is compact, but I will take the trade off for such a useful light shaping tool.

Flashpoint Q Series 6" Beauty Dish

For its small size if used close and with a dome diffuser and diffusion cover the quality of light is very nice. The grids are a very good addition. However the loss in stops needs to be considered, Over all a good product,

Not Quite Junk But Close

Beauty Dish itself is OK but the concept of a beauty dish on a speedlight is pretty silly to begin with. I got this to use in combination with the accessory grid for a somewhat softer, directional light rather than as a singular modifier but the grids simply fall out. They make a nice sound when they hit the floor but chasing them as they roll around isn't exactly fun. Some duct tape on the edges provides enough friction to hold them in but anytime you need to use tape to get a new product to work properly you know you have a bad design. That said, the light is pretty good from the modifier and it does attach nicely to an SB 910.

A Useful item

It would be useful if a guide to explain the effects of the filters were included

Small, Sturdy and Versatile

I have just received the 6" beauty dish to use with my SB910. It is well built, easy to pack, quick to attach to the flash and will not fall off during use. I have used it as a fill light for portraits. I look forward to exploring various uses along with its accessory colored filters and grids.

Pretty good

I use for Portraits and some events. I like the soft light, but it does fall off my flash and has become quite dented. The accessory gels break easily when the unit hits the ground. Once broken, they are unusable.

Speedlight Beauth dish

It is a little small making which makes the light a bit harsh. Clever, though & looks better than a DYI (if that matters to you)

Good for quick modifier on strobe

Unfortunately the heads on Canon Speedlites are different sized so I have trouble fitting on one of the older Speedlites I have

I Love It!

If you know how to set your ISO, f-stop, shutter stop and have a good flash, then this set-up is for you. It is wonderfully portable and gives a beautiful concentration of light. Buy the grids in order to have more options. The colored gels are junk, but the grids are worth buying. If you want to see an example of what this flash can do, Look here:[@]

Good to have!

Well constructed, the bowl is made of metal straps on like the Gary Fong diffuser but no light is wasted toward the back. Bulky but that's OK. I plan to get another for my 430EX.

The "Q" Series Beauty Dish Reflector measures 6" in diameter and comes with a silver deflector panel. It redirects the bounced, rectangular output of a standard shoe flash into a more diffused, flattering pattern of light. Light emitted using the Beauty Dish Reflector is soft and shadowless. Just like the name implies the result is similar to using a studio beauty dish reflector.

The Beauty Dish is secured to the flash with a velcro strap.

Available in "A" and "B" series. Size "A", Fits: Canon 580EX, 580EXII, 550EX, 540EX, Nikon SB900, Metz 40MZ2, 54MZ3, MZ 440AF, MZ AF1, Sigma EF-500DG Super, ST Sunpak 2000DZ, 266D,, Vivitar 2500, 273, 3500, 850AF, Pentax AF-360, AF-540
