Great snoot, wish it had an option to control the light output more like an adjustable end piece but It does what I need it to do for now.

I've enjoyed paying with my snoot on artistic portrait shoots. After the standard shots using regular portrait lighting techniques, I'll take several shots using the snoot for a different look.

Fits on my old SB-600, but with difficulty. All of my speedlights have LumiQuest UltraStraps on them. The snoot comes with four built-in flaps designed to surround the end of the flash and a strap to be tightened around the flaps. To mount the snoot this way I'd have to remove the UltraStrap, which, if I'm going to switch back to some other light shaping tool, isn't an option. To solve the problem I bent the side flaps out and attached small Velcro patches to them. Now I can get the snoot to mount using the UltraStrap as an anchor. But it works as advertised once you overcome the unfortunate mounting design.

Cool product. Does what it should but the Velcro belt that is supposed to hold the hood to the flash doesn't work well. I use a rubber band and it works great but I shouldn't have to do that.

Picked up this model specifically because I had an old SB-25 I thought I'd use solely for when I needed a gridded snoot or snooted setup in portraits. This model claims to fit an SB-25 but it doesn't. You can make it work, but you literally need to break the plastic pieces on the sides of the flash attachment part. Vertically the flash fits with this, but laterally the SB-25 is too wide to fit the adapter and since it is hard plastic there isn't much give. I ended up just breaking the sides of the adapter off and using gaffer tape to connect the flash. It will fit a 430 EXII head just fine though. The unit is well-constructed and comes with two grids to give you even more control the light. I'd recommend it and give it five stars were it not for the fact that it didn't fit the SB-25 as advertised.

Nice surprise, my unit came with two honeycombs. One lets less light pass vs. the other. I love that I now can direct a specific light source in such a compact arraignment as speed-lights.On the CON side, the unit is not collapsable, wish it was. The strap that comes with it to secure it to the speed-light is a little weak. Basically you place a wide rubber band on the flash unit and then squeeze the tabs on the snoot with a velcro strap. This is really not a deal breaker for me.In the photo I enclosed, you can see how I used the snoot to highlight my wife's hair. So, if you like to travel light and demand light control, this unit is very good for that purpose. [...]
