This was recommended to me after I made an email enquiry to Adorama and it’s perfect for what I need! Thanks so much for the online help!

On the first use I couldn't get it to do anything. Trippled check everything and still nothing. Finally it starts to work and all is well for a while. Midway through the shoot they stop firing. Only by pressing the test button did they fire. Can't trust these to perform well.

Great. This is my 3rd R1 HSS Transceiver. The first 2 worked very well. This is just a back up and for use on newer lights.

This is a great transceiver for the price but it does have its issues. While these serve the purpose of triggering a flash they often will trigger the flash unit without even being triggered from the camera.

Ordering and shipping was very good, as expected, however I couldn't get the remotes to talk to one another. Adorama paid return postage, exchanged the items for with no hassles.

Does the job for my manual flashes (Flashpoint 620M) perfectly. Consistent dependable results. Price point is very acceptable! Thank you Flashpoint!!

When HSS shooting is required this is a must have unit reasonably priced with quality and durability you can expect from Flashpoint products.

If you have a flash like the Flashpoint 360 and are shooting in sunlit conditions this lets you use a faster shutter speed to control the daylight, yet get the full effect of the strobe. It would be nice if this unit could control the flash settings remotely.

The Flashpoint R1 works for the most part, but the flash output seem to go down significantly with every increase over shutter speed over 1/2000 second. I lost what seem like 2-stops of light by the time I got to 1/8000 of a second. At 1/1000 and below, the performance was excellent. I was using this with the trigger that came with the Rovelight 600, so that might have reduced the efficiency, but it was not directly compatible with the flash and I didn't purchase the receiver since the flash was listed as compatible. It's better than no HSS. But I wouldn't recommend it if you could get a better or more compatible one.

I bought 4 of them, but they don`t fire my SB 800 and SB 900 in HSS mode with Nikon D3s and D2xs. They work good only up to 1/250s

Works well for my Nikon gear. For Fuji xt-1 it will trigger flash but not at high speed sync.

First off I would like to say I am very happy with the unit so far. I bought the Flashpoint 360 bundle and ordered the R1 HSS-N so I would have high speed sync. I was a little disappointed that the flash power can't be controlled from the R1 HSS like on the R1. You have to carry the R1 in your pocket for power adjustment and mount the R1 HSS on camera. The unit is slightly larger & lighter than the R1. It also has a textured surface rather smooth like the R1. The buttons and finish on the R1 seem nicer and have a more positive feel. I have had the flash and camera a little over 3 meters apart with metal objects blocking the line of sight. No misfires or any other problems. I have a project coming up in a large warehouse and plan to mount the flash in the rafters. It should be a good test.

I have bought 4 of these triggers, not because they fail or break but because they are great triggers and a great price. I now have one for each light I use so no swapping triggers.

I love this transceiver. It works just as described in the Overview.

It was either not functioning or I was mistaken that it would wirelessly trigger my Flashpoint RoveLight 600 strobe. I set the dip switches the same on the trigger and flash unit and it did not trigger the flash.I assumed it would communicate with the built-in wireless receiver on the flash but it did not. The wireless must be incomparable?? I'm sure it works fine between transceivers, but i thought it would talk to my flashpoint flash

This is a great alternative to the Prophoto B1. The HSS option is why I wanted it. I've used it a couple times now and my location sessions have been a breeze and much faster as this light is consistent. I thank Jason Lanier on YouTube for demonstrating it's use.https://youtu.be/uiXkgJ8xW2 shttps://youtu.be/4zf_XPZnvXk

This trigger along with the Rove Light RL-600 is a great combination to get high speed sync. Works flawlessly.

It does what it's advertised to do, which is fantastic. Limited power range(1/32 to full power I believe), but that's just fine for high speed sync, since any lower might not be enough for most situations. It would be absolutely grand and garner five stars(plus) if you could actually change the power output of the streaklight with it,as you would with the regular transmitter, remotely. Still can't beat it though, especially if you consider dinosaurs like pocket wizard.

The Flashpoint R1 HSS Remote Transceiver for Nikon is designed to function as a wireless transmitter and a receiver, featuring high speed synchronization for Flashpoint Streaklight, Zoom Lion and RoveLights, plus most HSS capable flashes.Speedlights and high-speed studio flashes can also achieve automatic high speed synchronization when used mounted on specific models of Nikon cameras. The maximum flash synchronization speed is dependent on the fastest shutter speed ofthe camera.
The multipurpose transceiver has 4 major functions, perfect for all studio flashes and speedlights remote communications: A wireless studio flash trigger,a wireless Speedlighttrigger, a wired shutter release, a wireless shutter release
