Just got done trying this receiver with its transmitter using my Alien Bees. First, you'll need to buy 2 AAA batteries because none is included. As far as working, heck yeah it works. Just make sure the dip switches all match and it works flawlessly. The only thing I don't like about it is, if you have to use the included smaller plug, it makes the receiver a little heavy. I had to make sure the receiver was pushed in all the way, cause it has a tendency to slide out a little. Other than that, for this price, I can live with it.

Works great so far, easy to use. Only tested a few times at home. Havn't used it for a photoshoot yet.

Use this primaraly as the slave unit for studio flash units when too long a distance from camera to flash unit. Use with the remote trip unit on camera. Very good product, and very inexpensive. Heck, you can buy several for less than one expensive unit, not any more reliable!

I understand that PocketWizards are cool, but I can't see why a person would spend that much money to get a device to do what this remote does! It is very light, simple to use and works very well!! It does not look like it would take massive abuse, but if you take good care of it - it should last. Never once it misfired or gave me any problems. Make sure to turn it off when not in use and pack an extra set of triple A batteries!!

I bought a couple of these for use in my studio when I was first starting out. After spending heavily on a couple of fast "L" lenses, I did not have the budget to get the expensive radio triggers everybody wants ("PocketWizards"). I have been very pleased with the performance so far. The only time these have not fired was when the connection was loose. They fire 9 out of 10 times. For the price I paid, that is fantastic. These will suffice until I can get the more expensive triggers I want.

I bought 2 receivers to work with a transmitter/receiver set I had purchased earlier. I know there are more "professional" units out there, but for the price these are great. They have been reliable on the job.
