This item is the most rubbish item I bought since I started photography. Did not even worked once when it arrived. Was planning to use it to connect to my wireless trigger for my Sony flash. [...]Anybody out there who knows similar product that works, please let me know.

I bought this in the hope that it would allow me to fire my old Minolta 5400 flashes in manual mode with Alien Bees CyberSync flash triggers. After some initial disappointment, I was able to get them to sync with the shutter at 1/50. Not the best case, but the flash duration is short enough that when used as a hair light or background fill in a studio setup, the actual exposure freezes any subject motion. Bottom line: they worked for what I got them for.

I use these to get a PC port on Sony/Minolta flash guns. For studio lighting with shoe-mount strobes, they are essential equipment. Use manual control only when using this adapter. Auto-flash will fire at full power every time. Mine have a wobbly hold on Sony/Minolta flash guns, but they hold none-the-less. Inside and outside are all four pins of the proprietary hot shoe, but only two are wired inside. Because there is no voltage protection, I use mine between Sony/Minolta flashes and Sony/Minolta cameras only.

Minolta/sony camera shoe is unique and used only by Sony/Minolta.. This adapter will allow you to mount Sony/Minolta flash on other cameras.
