Questions & Answers

CHRISTIAN L : Will the stabilizer work on its own, or is it absolutely necessary to own the jacket as well? I'm new to this side of visual media and im working with a small budget.DON L : Yes. It works fine for us and is well made. We also tried it with NEX cameras and they are just too light to balance perfectly, but they still float pretty nicely, too. Very good value in our opinion. The vest isn't necessary for short runs, but I wouldn't want to hold it for too long at a time. It's not very heavy at all, but any stabilizer with a DSLR will get you tired after a while. I have used a Glidecam 2000 and think this is just as good.CARLOS R : The Jacket is not necessary.NICK B : The jacket isn't required, it's just to make motion smoother.ARMANDO G : A friend told me that is better with the Jacket. I haven't been able to used it for one reason or other. Is hard to make it stable and I haven't had the time to play with it. The demo to put it to work is very basic. They are more complete ones on the web for other brands.MICHAEL E : The jacket has nothing to do with it. I returned it as it was impossible to get it not to swivel sidewaysTRULY W : No you dont need the jacket for short time shoot. It works great for light cameras.
Shopper : is there any idea on how long this stabilizer would take for you guys to get?ANDREW R : Unfortunately we currently have no estimated time of arrival for this item.

Really difficult to master

Looks very nice with bright blue over black, and it is very sturdy, in my opinión. But to achieve the proper balance is very, very difficult: If you are "almost there" and you move the camera's plate a Little, you make it lean the opposite way it was leaning to. I don't think I am going to keep it. Perhaps I'll try to sell it to a colleague thet makes videos for a living. I bought it, I tried working with it, and I didn't like it.

About Flashpoint ZeroGrav Stabilizer IV

Flashpoint ZeroGrav Stabilizer 4: The lightest perfect fit DSLR / DV designed member of the ZeroGrav family of smart value stabilizers. From the smallest to the boldest, the ZeroGrav line accomplishes the impossible.

A ZeroGrav essentially combines the stabilized steady footage of a conventional tripod mount with the fluid motion of a dolly shot and the flexibility of hand-held camera work. While smoothly following the operator's broad movements, the ZeroGrav's armature absorbs jerks, bumps, and shakes.

Flashpoint ZEROGRAV blends the best of gimbal based camera stabilization systems that links a dynamic spring powered arm supporting a gimbaled aluminum alloy monopod. All of the action and movement is controlled by a sophisticated blend of levers, springs, counterbalance weights and concentric ring connections that any user can master in a simple setup.

The handheld stabilizer grip is constructed from lightweight aluminum alloy. Wonderfully comfortable to handle, it gives the sensation of an 'anti-gravity' effect though its well thought out counterbalance system. The camera is attached directly to the platform or by means of a quick release adapter. Positive locking levers, micrometer geared adjusting knobs on clearly marked calibration scale, provide wide range north-south east-west settings for the slightest changes in equipment weight. Set up is simplified by fitting the socket port in the handle onto a standard diameter light stand and discovering true balance without touching the assembly. The stabilizer length creates fulcrum anti-swing and limits the need for additional disk weights. The experience is pure flow control for pans, walk-through's on flat terrain or even on steps.
