Poor Quality

I have returned three of these tripods because of the poor workmanship in the plastic rings that hold each leg in all three parts. The last two I returned where broken for the same reasons before I even had a chance to use them. I would urge no one to purchase this item. Spend your money wisely and buy a name brand, albeit more expensive, tripod.

Good not great

While I have not used anything better, I just felt like while this tripod was good, strong, and light, it was not great. The legs did not retract very well and it was not as smooth as i hoped. However, it was very light and fairly strong though I would not put more than 12lbs on this tripod. I felt like my 5D3 with grip and 70-200 was the most I wanted to add. If you are shooting at REALLY slow shutter speeds, you may want something more heavy duty. I do wish that instead of making it 4 sections, they had made it 3 and just made the legs longer. It would not have folded quite as small but it would have been much stronger. The 4th sections is very weak. The center section should have been a couple inches longer as well.

Version II F-2228N

We were able to use the product at a recent wedding. It did hold DSLR with a 50-200mm F/2.8-3.5 very well. We did mount a ball head. The carrying case is padded but somewhat small for a lager head to zip up. I gave it 4 stars only because the tabs have no way to adjust tension as other tripods I have owned. The rubber feet do extend not to mar a floor and can retract to expose metal points for outdoor use. It does come with a tool to make adjustments. It has two mounted pads on two of the legs.

Looks Great... Time will tell!

I wanted lightweight and this tripod is. I would rate it above average, but I am afraid of the rather lightweight plastic leg clamps. If they last great, but for a couple of more dollars they could have made them stronger. Time will tell... Recommended with caution.

Great tripod

The weight of this product is acceptable. The bag is very well constructed and makes carrying this additional piece of equipment very easy. Extremely sturdy.

>>Pleasantly Surprise<<

I shoot mostly hand held. but sometimes i'm in need of a tripod. So i started looking around for a good deal. After coming across the "Flash Point" F2228N i did some research and found it would be worth the buy. Upon receiving my tripod i was blown away by how light the carbon-fiber was. My manfrotto head is 5 times the weight but the integrity of the tripod isn't compromised. It feels like its made of feathers. :). Comes with a handy case that easily holds tripod+head attached. would i guy this again? yes. Any con's? It takes a few times of opening and closing the legs to loosen them up. Not really an issue.

Light weight, strong and stable

I purchased this tripod for two purposes. I want to use it with my Nikon D90 for low light shots and for that it has been superb. The second purpose is to hold my Celestron C5 spotting scope with and without my D90 attached. So far so good. I have yet to find the optimal head, been using one from an old tripod, but my visual use of the C5 suggests that this tripod is very stable. The weight of the C5 is 6 lbs and the D90 is about 2.5 lbs so the total is well within the 22lb capacity of this tripod. I do not anticipate any problems using it with the C5 and D90 together. Of particular note is the weight of this tripod. I am replacing an aluminum tripod that I thought was light weight. This one is barely there.

just what I needed

I have been using a manfrotto tripod, the height was perfect, no more bending, but this particular model could not go down to ground level. I decided to try this flashpoint tripod, it goes all the way down and is the perfect height. The leg locks are much easier to lock and unlock also. Being a carbon fiber is a definite plus! I would recommend this tripod.

Very disappointing

I was on a paid photo trek, The legs would become loose. Lucky had a hex wrench to tighten then or the tripod would have been unusable. I bought a better model and it was worse. The very first use, one of the leg sections came completely out, so I could only use the top two extension. When two products of the same maker are junk from the start, one would have to think that their line might be junk.
