The good- It is a very flexible light. It is bright and the ability to adjust the color temperature is a huge plus. I haven't used it enough to comment on battery life, but so far I am very satisfied. The bad- the light was broken when I received it. The board that the LEDs are mounted on was moving freely within the main body of the light. I opened the case and found that the board was attached to the case by four screws, one at each corner. The board is very thin and three of the corners had broken off. Luckily it was an easy fix, I simply removed the screws, aligned the board and firmly replaced the screws. Even with the broken corners this was enough to keep the board snugly in place. Also, the "diffuser" filter that is provided is silly, since it is almost completely transparent, it doesn't do any diffusing. Not a big deal, its easy enough to make one.

Usually I use it with an assistant hand holding it to fill light a subjects face. Very powerful and love the ability to change color temperature. The little shoe mount aperatus is a little hard to work with but rarely do I use it on a hot shoe.....so no big deal. Very useful light.

I was excited by the prospect of replacing my old hot light and LitePanel MicroPro with this Adorama flashpoint LED light; on paper it has all the right things going for it: + lightweight + LED + doesn't get hot + easily swappable batteries While the light itself performed for the most part, admirably, the included battery was a bit to be desired. I was able to run the light for about an 1 hour and 30 minutes straight before it just died in a rather catastrophic way - during one of the speeches at the reception. Needless to say, I had to scramble big time. Having used a MicroPro for the past few years, I just assumed that this battery would be good for at least a couple of hours. Sadly, I was mistaken. The knock-off of the Sony battery that is included could not keep up. I would however, still buy this light again. The overall performance of it was good, the dimmable and mixable light combination is a great convenience over other LED lights that are just 1 color temp. My advice: if you're going to get this light, do invest in several additional batteries.

This is my first LED lamp and I haven't compared it against the more expensive models, nor have I precisely measured its color and light output. What I can say is it lights up, it has a wide range of color, it gets bright and it dims but less than I'd like, it's made out of plastic and doesn't feel sturdy, and it has at least one major design flaw: it attaches via a plastic screw socket that is sure to get stripped from repeated use. Drop it still attached to your ball head and I imagine it could easily snap. A [$] piece of equipment ought to have a metal socket. That it doesn't come with one tells me this is designed to break. It will save you money over the short term, but might prove more expensive in the long run. Treat it delicately. And plan on replacing the ball head with a better model-- the one it comes with is less than reassuring also.

This is a great light. The temperature adjustment and dimming are features often only found on more expensive units. This unit puts off a lot of light! the diffuser plate slides out a bit too easily, but a small piece of tape cures that. I love this light.

I use this light for all occassion. At the time of purchase the price was very reasonable. The price have really jump for this particular LED light source now. You can adjust the brightness of the lights, it comes with a slide in dimmable panel, all around it is a well constructive product and I'm glad I purchase it when the price was down. Love this light and I would buy it again.

It's not perfect -- cheapish casing, head that comes with it is junky. It's a bit too big for on-DSLR use. Certainly too big for a compact like one gh2. But, for the money, it may be the best deal out there as of now. Strong light, flexible power options, good dimmer. And bi-color. Hard to beat.

I use this to help my DSLR focus in very low light at parties. It's a little bit bigger than I'd like but the smallest available. More powerful than I thought and then intensity can be lowered when necessary. All video lights at this low end are kind of blinding to the subject but make focusing easy and pupils are not dialated - no red eye!

For a very inexpensive little light it is awesome. Batteries last a long time, the color is very consistent and it is light and durable. However it will not light up a whole scene. At the price you could get 12 of them and have lots of light.

Liked everything about the three units i recently purchased from adorama, good output, pretty light for aircraft travel, smallish for easy packing, batteries last for more than 4 hours, recommended.

This light is bright, pair it up with a mini tripod and you have a trouble light, a power outage light along with a excellent light for indoor video. Two are even better, one direct and one bounce. Excellent battery life, you get alot of light for quite awhile on 4 AAs.

I use it mainly for indoor shots in low light situations. For macro shots I use it OFF CAMERA to get the proper light distribution and light direction. I photographed a Kodak Grey card using the Flashpoint as the only light source. I examined the digital image on Photoshop and found that there was NO color bias from the light source.

I think this is one of the best buys I have seen for lighting. There are units out there that cost about $200 and have some brightness control. However with some home made filtering you can control the amount of light. They give you a basic tungsten filtering and the lights themselves are daylight so it gives you a wide range for use inside and out. And they are cool in temperature. If you are handy, you can make these little lights work for you in many ways. Throws a lot of light. I like them.

I got this light in a hurry, had some issues with lighting in certain venues when doing live recordings. I pulled this out of the box, put batteries in it and turned it on. It was like turning on the sun!! I had to buy white tights and stretch it over the light to mute it a bit, but still very bright. Do not look directly at this light when turned on, you may burn your retinas. This thing is huge, much bigger than I anticipated and kind of bulky. It is way bigger than my flash video camera, but so totally worth it to be able to shoot my videos and instantly download them to YouTube and be able to see the show. Big, bright and heavy.

I like these LED lights. They performs very well and give plenty of light. They have good battery life. And the slide in filter is a nice. Also, I cut my own slide in gel filters for 6 different color effects - worked great. I also use two of these LEDs and add a filter made out of milk container plastic to one of the lights for softer effect and the other one full for portraits. They come out pretty cool... I am very happy with these lights. One last thing. We lost our electric one nite for a few hours. They really lit up the room nice during the blackout.

Tried to take a picture in semi-dark, in light with and with out product (no difference). Unless I got a bad copy, I should have spent 4 to 5 times more to get good product.

My first impression when I unpacked it was "Man this thing is huge". It measures 4 3/4" wide by 4 1/4" tall from the top to the shoe. I was really considering returning it because of it's size but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. On my camcorder this thing looked ridiculous but the amount of light this unit provides is very good. This will be handy for indoor or low lighting recordings. I also played with this on my Nikon D300 for some low light close ups and was also impressed with the quality of the shots. The filter was a nice touch also. My only complaint besides its size is the shoe mount is a little flimsy. But all in all I'm pretty satisfied with this purchase.
