Product Headline a little deceiving

This is a good inexpensive shadow box frame, however the sizes describe the Outside edge of frame, not the picture dimension. Ex: the largest frame is advertised as "...for a 16 x 20 photograph", when it's really a frame for an 11 X 14 print, and the outside dimension would be the 16 X 20 size. The pictures do not show enough detail to figure this out.

Unglued Corners Appears Fixed

By

from Mount Juliet, TN  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I purchase 16" x 20" black shadowbox frames for a series of my photography that I hand-craft into unique dimensional images. I will be marketing them to galleries, gift shops, and individuals. I ordered eight Dakota Shadowbox frames for this series from Adorama. Unfortunately, all eight arrived with the lower right corners completely separating. Not a good thing with frames. No glue had been applied by the manufacturer. I was so disappointed. Since I had a pressing deadline, I did not have time to return the frames and wait for replacements. I had to hand glue each corner of each frame myself. I later called Adorama's customer service to alert them of the problem and request they convey this quality control problem on to the manufacturer. Hence, I was reluctant to order Dakota frames ever since. Recently, I needed to order 8 more shadowbox frames for another series of images. Since the 3/4" depth and the removable wood spacer inside the 16" x 20" Dakota frame were a perfect fit for my dimensional images, I took a chance the problem I had experienced with unglued frame corners had been resolved. I placed another order for the Dakota frames. When the frames arrived, I was delighted to see the quality control problem of unglued corners appears to have been fixed. All corners were securely glued. I really prefer the Dakota frames because they aren't too deep and bulky for a wall display and the wood spacer inside is removable for ease in matting and assembly. And, the price is the most reasonable and cost-effective I have found online for this size shadowbox frame. While the bendable metal fasteners and hardware for hanging on the frame back are lacking the quality I prefer for my clients, I will continue to order Dakota frames from Adorama--provided the corners continue to be properly glued.

I love these frames

By

from Keene NH  -  Pro Photographer

I'm a professional fiber artist. I use these frames to display my fiber work and prints. They are awesome! I've looked for years and never found anything to match the quality for this price. The depth is perfect for shadow boxing--not too deep, and nice inner 'lifts' so you can float the mat. The older version had a classier backboard (black, instead of the current cardboard brown with cheap hangers), but at this price, I'll put my own hangers on them!

This shadow box was perfect for the display I created. It's large size allows for a lot of variety.

Great Frame, Great Price

By

from Portland, Oregon

This is a great shadow box at an unbeatable price. I searched all over online and the cheapest price for this size shadow box was nearly 40 dollars. The matte frame does come out so you can use the entire 16x20 size.

Shopper  What is the depth of these frames?
PAMELA R  Around 1 inch
J.R. V  how deep is the box? Would it allow for a jersey to be displayed?
LUANN U  Hard to say....It's about an inch deep, so a men's XXL wool jersey probably wouldn't fit, but a folded long-sleeved man's t-shirt might.
