Easy Installation, with Reliable and Excellent Performance
Coming from an older PCI soundcard with breakout box, the installation of this Scarlett 6i6 was a snap. I installed the software, connected the Scarlett 6i6, and it was automatically recognized by my PC, which set it for the default Windows sound. My editing software, Adobe Audition, was easy to set up too. The Scarlett 6i6 showed up as an option in the preferences. I don't remember whether Adobe Audition had already automatically selected the Scarlett 6i6 for the sound, or whether I selected it, but this is a mark of how trouble-free the whole process was.
Operation has been great. I do production for radio - promos, commercials, that sort of thing. I haven't measured the latency, but it is easily low enough for effective multi-tracking on my 7 or 8 year-old PC, which now has Windows 10 installed.
The accompanying software, Scarlett MixControl, has an intuitive interface. As with anything like this, there was a small amount of time and head scratching involved when hooking it up to my computer and Mackie mixer, but this had more to do with my relative denseness when thinking about the architecture of recording and playback systems, than with any shortcomings of this USB interface. Everything is set up now, and I am very happy. Money well spent. Top marks!

For quite a few years I have been wanting to do multi-track recording of audio and Midi. With the Scarlett 6i6 and the included Ableton Live Lite, I can finally do it. Now I am having plenty of fun. Being a technical novice, my critique of the technical aspects would be suspect but so far the interface seems to work just fine and does what it is supposed to do.
