Haven’t used it yet. Saw a YouTube video where Gary said that he was not making any more of these due to the environment and chrome process. I own, use and like Gary’s products and am always impressed with the amount of fill produced by the Lightsphere TM. This is suppose to increase the light output of your speedlight for shooting larger groups or further distances. Looking forward to trying it out.

Great Concept
I think the concept is good but getting more flash power is pushing it a bit. I didn't gain anymore power using this device than when I didn't use the device. changing my ISO speed during group shots done it for me. But let me make a note about what I didn't do I did not meter the two light out-puts so it may give you more light. I just didn't see it in my pictures.

GREAT PRODUCT WOULD BUY AGAIN
THE GARY FONG CHROMEDOME IS VERY EASY TO USE AND WILL GIVE YOU A EXTRA f STOP TO PLAY WITH. VERY EASY TO INSTALL AS IT JUST DROPS INTO THE LIGHTSPHERE.

Useful Lightsphere accessory
Making photos of groups of people indoors, depending on the distance to the subject and the ceiling, I have been using either the ChromeDome, the white dome that comes with the Lightsphere, or no dome. When I need bit more forward projection of light I am very glad to have the ChromeDome in my bag.

boosts the lightsphere output
I'm still learning when its best to use the product. Its kind of a niche application in that there are only certain times when I would use the LightSphere, and then there are only certain times when I might need to boost the output. However, it does fit the Lightsphere well and I believe it does increase the flash through the sphere.
I like the Lightsphere itself quite a lot, for portraits.
