Gary Fong Power Grid

This was a new toy for me. I watched the Gary Fong videos, but there is nothing like using it for yourself. I was hired to shoot a local event (Chanukah Festival), some of my subjects were far away and even though I use a Canon 580-II as my primary flash, I was afraid it just wouldn't be able to throw all the light where I needed it. The Gary Fong grid is small enough to carry in a medium size pocket and snaps on the the GF sphere easily. The light output is of greater value and steady. I don't go on any event type photography situation without it!

When I first received the GF Power Grid I wasn't to sure if this was a smart choice. However, I was invited to a clients wedding rehearsal dinner. I had the chance to put it to the test. The Power Grid did not cut down my f stop, light output was consistent, and the portrait effect was perfect.
