Attention to details

I have the Hiderer Rescue model and I decided to renew it for the CLS. I have used it for a week in a maritime environment (without coming into contact with the sea). and show signs of rust on the blade, cut ends and pointer

Air transportation

Carried one for 2 tours in Afghanistan. Good knife. Still use it as an EDC.

Paramedic

I'm a paramedic, and bought one of these as my medic school graduation gift. I use it nearly every shift; o2 wrench is handy (I've used it enough to wear the plastic around the rectangle is dented/worn), I've used the C-Blade to slice through multiple seatbelts, Easily broke windows (much easier than my raptor's window breaker). I've used the blade to pry things open, cut all types of materials. Blade has taken some damage on the edge, but still does the job. Extremely easy to use one handed once you practice a few times. This knife has made a difference in multiple situations. I've had to remove the clip and bend it back into proper shape. This knife is a Jack of all trades, and a must have.

Truck Driver

I'm not a rescue worker. I bought it because I spend 8-12 hours a day in a vehicle, sometimes in remote areas where help will take awhile to get there. If you can get a cell signal. So, I like the idea of being able to get myself out if the seat belt and door are jammed. Mostly, it was just a relatively inexpensive EDC knife for work though. I don't hate it. I still have it. I don't use it for work now though. I had it clipped to the inside rear of a front pants pocket (jeans and cargo pants). I found it was frequently difficult to open with one hand after awhile. I tried carrying it more forward so there wasn't pressure on the blade to push it inward to the handle while closed, but had the same issue. Tried carrying it loose in a cargo pant pocket and still had the same issue. So it worked fine otherwise. The metal was pretty easy to wear down but never seemed to sharpen quite right like every other knife I've sharpened. Edge would look flawless but just did not cut smooth for me. If those things don't matter, then this might be a good choice for you. I really liked the size and grip shape. Rescue workers might like that it also has an Oxygen tank wrench in the handle. Many rescue knives (including the MUUUCH more expensive Benchmades) do not have that. Also, if you're comparing to the Benchmade Triage that now has a drop point blade (not the auto one, don't know about that), the Benchmade handle is entirely smooth. Fine for people like me. Probably not fine if you've got gore, oil, diesel fuel on your hands. The original Triage has a great textured handle, but has a sheeps foot blade. So, for legit rescue workers this may actually be a better choice.

Capt.

I bought the first generation of this knife & it has been in my duty pants pocket for about 12 years now. Have used & abused the hell out of it, and except for sharpening of it & occasionally tightening the itty-bitty screws I have had ZERO issues with it. It has saved my kiester a couple of times & several others lives as I have worked on them or around them. My biggest fear is loosing it and not having another to replace it... I better buy another or two

Great knife to carry at all times. I don't carry it in my turnouts cause it's more useful out. I use the O2 wrench a lot cause O2 wrenches are always misplaced or in a different location on every ride. Never used window punch. Broke the thumb lock when dropped but Gerber replaced it fast. Feels good in hand and cuts through everything, even though I mainly use it to cut open boxes. I'm shocked that the more expensive FF red knife got horrible reviews.

Really great knife , tough blade , gut and skins elk and open a can of beans. not hard to sharpen , paint wears off the blade looks like grunt, but who cares . the thumb stud fell out rendering the knife useless. But Im sendin it in and Im sure Gerber will fix it . Thats why you buy Gerber knives

All in all. I really like this knife. It's cuts seat belts, among other things, like a champ and is very durable. I gave it three stars because, unlike other reviews, I did not have much success using the window break. Ive attempted to use it on 2 separate occasions and it only cracked the window, leaving it still in tact. Luckily, everything ended up alright but I was very disappointed with the glass breakers performance.

Everything/Everywhere

Stop looking around! This is the only knife you will ever need, it does everything. I've put this puppy through cutting cement bags, sandbags, cardboard boxes, birthday cakes, skin animals and it's held up, recently lost it's sharp but sharpened it and it's back in action

Medic

I bought this knife while I was in Medic school back in 2011. I've had it ever since. It has always been a great knife and the extras on it have been invaluable. The o2 key is an awesome thing to have! Twice now I inadvertently found out that this knife does not conduct electricity.. I won't go into details, but it was a nice surprise to not get shocked! I sadly lost it this year on a float trip, but I've already got my new one in my pocket. It's irreplaceable for this line of work.

EMT

I've owned and heavily used this knife for over a year now, and love it. Shatters windows like a champ. Still cuts seatbelts with ease and the knife holds its edge really well. And you can't beat having an O2 wrench on hand when you need it. Having a good knife is essential in the first responder world and this one has it in spades.

I bought this blade while on a military base about 2-3 years ago. It is really tough. The blade holds an edge and the knife construction is tough. I carry it every single day and the only wear and tear is the paint on the clip wore off and some paint on the blade. Clip is very sturdy compared to my kershaw, and this knife just feels very solid. Clearly one of the best in my opinion.

Awesome knife. Have used and abused it for 3+ years and has handled every task I have thrown at it. A little large for off duty carry.
