I've had my gerber 400 since 1990 purchased at the PX in Germany. I still have it and it serves me well always I can't complement the quality and craftsmanship enough. Well done

The Gerber LST is one of the best pocket knife ever made and is all you need for an everyday carry pocket knife! We used this knife for years and has always lived up to the challenge of an everyday knife. If you never owned one of these beautiful knives that youoweitto yourself to give her a try, as you will not regret your purchase. Finally, I lost one at the airport as I forgot the knife was in my pocket, but as I walked out of the circular security scan, with my arms overhead, I realized that the knife was in my pocket. Instead of just forgetting the fact that my Gerber LST just asses through the updated security scan, I opened my mouth and said, "Hey, my knife was in my pocket!" Immediately, an airport security guard approached me demanded my favorite Ferber LST Pocket knife! I was not allowed the option to mail the knife home which occurs at some airports, No the TSA just demanded my favorite pocket knife! The knife is so small that it passed through an advanced security scan but the lesson learned was to pack the knife in your checked luggage or leave her home for safe keeping!

Very sharp. Made in USA! I will leave this knife on my keychain and will always be with me, ready for longtime use. Ultra light in the best way. Nice knife Gerber!

I picked up this back in the 80s from the Exchange while stationed overseas in Germany while in the U.S. Army and used it through my deployments at 82nd Airborne. Once I got out I had this knife always on my keychain until one day lost it (worst day). This is 3rd one I just got from Gerber today(thank you! for still making it) the 2nd was lost last month while going through Airport Security( hit or miss) had to leave it there at the gate (painful!) while catching a flight. This is the best little knife you will ever carry.

I've owned several lst since 1984 and at some point they stopped coming with the detachable pocket clip-- where can I get another for the 6th or 7th lst I just bought??

Absolutely the best most useful and most durable folder I've ever owned. I picked mine up in S Korea in 1991 and have carried in my pocket ever since. Nothing compares to tough unassuming little cutter in quality, size, function, balance, and style. If I should ever happen to lose this one, I would never replace it with anything other than another LST! Thank you Gerber.

I purchased this knife many years ago. I loved it and lost it. So I bought another. I have carried it for more than 20 years. I recently purchased an expensive knife from a different manufacturer. I keep it on my desk so that I can admire the handle, and fiddle with it. The Gerber LST is still my every-day-carry.

I bought a purple (yes) Micro LST about 1992. Carried it until it wore out, bought a black Micro, eventually decided I wanted a bit more blade and bought an Ultra. Perfect size! The one I have in my pocket right now I have had for about 20 years. A few years ago I got the "regular" LST for heavy duty, camping, etc. and I love it - but 6 days a week the Ultra is in my pocket. Never stop making this one.

I kept this great little knife with me constantly. So much so, that years ago I was caught at the airport about to go overseas and this knife was on my keychain and about to be scoffed-up by security. Thinking quickly, I went back into the large airport lobby and located a big commercial print. I reached up and hid my knife above the top of the frame. 3-weeks later, when I returned from Europe, my knife was right there atop the print. I was rescued from disaster. That very knife is next to me right now on my bed stand.

I have used this knife for 30 years they are the best however, on earlier models they had a pocket clip that mounted to the knife end, which allowed it to clip to inside of pants pocket, fast easy way of withdrawing the knife, if your sitting down, bending over easy extraction of the knife from the side of the front/side pocket. What ever happened to that idea, the clips used on other knifes are small, hard to spring open and all round difficult to pocket Bring this feature back and sales will increase.

Got an orange handed LST with LL Bean on it back in the early 80s. Carried it for a long time. Great little knife. I think it was my first lockback ever.

How long must I carry my Gerber for it to be considered vintage? I know I've had it since at least 1985, and it's been carried daily on my key chain since then! Blade is thinner (I'm not) and the handle is smoother (my scalp is), but every day above ground is a blessing and on we go.

I too love this knife; I have kept one in my pocket for more than 20 years. Well made and holds an edge. Lightweight means you can carry it and not know its there. I use it every time I need a knife; cuts rope, fishing line, boxes, & opens envelopes. Reminds me of when gentlemen carried pocketknives that were handed down by generations. Will continue to use it and give it as a gift as well.

Love this knife. I've had mine for almost 20 years. Clips perfectly in my pocket. The knife is "right-sized" for daily use, so don't let the small dimensions fool you. How much knife do you really need in your daily life anyway? I love the no-frills, unassuming look. Plus you can't beat the price. What's not to love? Buy it today, and you'll be writing the same review 20 years from now, too.

Just a nice little knife. There must be better, bigger, etc. etc. but it fits the bill to have a knife handy without the bulk of a 'real' knife. Got a few on hand, just in case. Funny how you feel 'lost' when you can't find it. Me? Just a guy with this knife and a Fenix E01 as his EDC gear, that's all.

I've been carrying an LST in my pocket since 1983. Same one all the time. It's part of my "go to" EDC. I gave one to all of my assistants - some laughed at first. Then they all just came to understand just how "smart" the LST is. It just works - nothing fancy and it seems just "natural" in the pocket. Don't let it's size fool ya ; it is big enough.

Great knife, received it fir my 16th. birthday, thirty five years ago. carried as a primary for years, when I deployed went as secondary to my Gerber Mark 1, used lst to probe for mines, saved my butt. Still in my waist band to back up my concealed revolver. Blade profile more like a Texas toothpick now, but just from sharpening for years. Get It, Carry It.

I have been carrying this knife for at least 10 years. Lost it and found it again numerous times. I absolutely love it because It takes up no room at all in my pocket that is shared with an iphone. Never scratches the phone. I use this so much that I was afraid I might be without to long if I lost it again so I ordered another to stash in my drawer just in case. Thanks for making a great product.

The 2 inch LST is THE best pocket knife for women. Small enough to go in any pocket-built to take any abuse, do the job and look wonderful. Why can't I get more of the 2 inch size-I'd give them away at women's marksmanship classes!!!

There's only a few bargains left in this world and this is one of them. After having mine for 4 years or so, I finally really lost it. I wanted to get a fancier something, but after looking around... no. I'm going back to the best knife ever made. This is it.

I received one over 20 years ago as a promotional item from a vendor and carried it every day until I eventually lost it. I bought a new one and shortly afterwords my son found the original knife in the sofa. I stil have both. I have through the years given 20 or more as gifts. They are getting harder and harder to find but there is a small hardware in our town that still carries it. They always keep a stock just for me around the holidays. I agree with John G, it almost has a cult following.

You can't ask for a better lightweight pocket knife. However, Gerber you lost me from buying my 2 sons this knife as they no longer come with the belt clip. Why? Bring back the clip, or at least offer it as an accessory.

Great knive, and I've owned the same one since 1992. Holds a fine edge, and the light weight is perfect as a pocket knife.
Nate

The Gerber Ultralight LST Fine Edge is the first pocket knife to use an all synthetic handle. The Gerber LST combines lightweight, smooth action and tough construction. Blades are made of durable surgical stainless steel. Checkered fiberglass-filled nylon handles ensure strength, durability and a non-slip grip.
