This Gerber folding spade is just amazing. I have had this sample for sometime, using it for camping and emergency purposes. The other day I went camping with my Nephew and his sons. One, we call the Destroyer at age eight, had this Gerber folding spade most of the two days we were camping. He has just polished off two other spades we had with us. Both made in China. The Destroyer did his level best by chopping five inch logs into, cutting down saplings, and digging for treasure. The Gerber Folding Spade took it all and came out just fine. The original finish was still there. Note: The Destroyer did find treasure. He dug up a buffalo rip which was sever feet below the surface....likely two to three hundred years old.
