I'm only writing this review because I came to look up the weight of the knife and noticed that others had written a negative review. This knife is fine in my opinion. I use it very often. I have owned it for about 3 years now and it holds an edge wonderfully. No complaints at all. I hike/ camp at least once a month and use this knife on every trip. Cuts wood, makes feather sticks, cuts my food, helps with any other thing I might need. Good knife, thanks.

have used this knife for deer hunting. non slip helps when in side , opens deer like a zipper, serrated edge cuts cartilage with ease.

Good blade. Edge retention and ease of sharpening are good. Handle is very comfortable. However, the lockup is slightly loose (lockup is very solid on the plain edge version) and the bottom of the belt loop on the sheath tore after only two days of carry. Mine also did not have a place in the sheath for the survival guide (the plain edge version has a pouch in the sheath for the guide). I think with a few tweaks the serrated version can be every bit as awesome as its plain edge brother.

Great knive. Sharp right outside the box and the rubber handle is one of the best features. I highly recommend. When getting anything gerber you know your getting good quality items.

I just picked up one of these knives after borrowing my son's, and I'm impressed! I love the grip, and the blade shaved hair off my arm out of the box! Heartily recommend this knife!

I love my knife but my fire starter has fallen out several times and the hammer on the bottom does not work well. The knife is great but gets dull quickly.

I just found it on a bike trail in Montreal yesterday.so far so good.I kind of like it ,its light and rubber ish handle.and the best part of this knife is the price.freebie for me.

Hi i'm Kenny and I have one of these folding sheath knives and I am very glad with what I have. I've also commented on the Scout and I think this one and the Scout are very similar. I LOVE the scout, and I LOVE this one. Scout is currently my EDC and I bring this one with me when i need a bigger blade (camping, hiking...) I have used this one to cut A LOT of stuff. Still RAZOR sharp, without a scratch. Love the serations, the colours and the jimping. Amazing job Gerber. Thanks to Bear Grylls for this awesome knife

Pretty rugged knife. Really sharp blade and after many uses I have only needed to touch it up. The serrations got all bent up while carving wood one time, but I was able to straighten them out on my kitchen sink! As good as new. They haven't broken yet and they shouldn't with normal use. Nice lightweight design and very comfortable while using it. I recommend it if you want a sheath knife and like the colors.

The knife is good . But it has problem that its serrated blade is quite special but not strong enough to cut a strong timber dry wood ,other wise it has beautiful rubber grip .BUT I HAVE A QUESTION THAT SOME SHEATH HAVE EXTRA POCKET FOR SURVIVAL GUIDE AND SOME HAS NOT AN EXTRA POCKET FOR SURVIVAL GUIDE , WHY? This knife is a very well built knife.i put this blade through everything including throwing, chopping, and dropping it in ice cold lakes and it still is good as new. If I had one complaint it would be because of the back end of the knife. Overall this is a good knife for people who want a good folding knife.

love the knife, feels great in your hands and is super grippy, razor sharp out of the box, my only problems are, after a few hours the blade has started to shake, which I was surprised, and that the knife is increadibly stiff to both open and close.

The knife is okay. The Sheath is very strong and thick. The handle of the knife is nice. The blade is razor sharp out of the box. I went out and used it and then it was super dull. It doesnt keep and edge for crap. Also it is pretty hard to sharpen

I've got this knife recently in Malaysia. It's a sharp knife. I punctured a hole in my bolster when I accidently dropped this knife from only a 10 centimetre drop. Tough knife for a folding blade. There's not regret in getting this knife.
