My Go To race blade on a 36ft Sailboat. I'm constantly lending it to my crew mates, and they always want a "Proper Tool" this is here and can do the job. Crucial lives to its name when you're breaking a tackle pin, or cutting your harness getting dragged overboard. I practice using it one handed and blindfolded. Left and right handed... no mistakes on the Mackinaw Race! Love this when I'm 52 feet up the mast... with this little tool I can figure it out. #brawndo USA 219

Perfect if you cut straps often, and need a screwdriver while one is too far away. Compact tool. In a word - crucial It's not a fully fledged multitool, and dulls easily, though

I've had the Crucial Blk for about 8 months now. It's great. I had a original Leatherman but it was a pain to use. The Crucial is all I need for everyday and camping. There are just a couple thoughts on an update. A rubberized handle, G10 scales or rounded edges would make it even more comfortable. the Philips head could be a little more useful and the flat head just a little wider. Other than that its the best multitool for me. It has come in handier than I thought.

My Dad bought me a Gerber Crucial before I went on a Cadet camp. It was a combo pack and came with the multi-tool and a torch. The torch lasted 2 cadet camps and broke, the Crucial still lives in my pocket to this day. I've had it for around 4-5 years and use it nearly every day. There is nothing wrong with it, save for a few scratches and such. I plan on passing it down to my son or daughter in the future.

perfect except for 2 things phillips head is so flat, it's worthless no bottle opener people are complaining that it doesn't hold an edge well. the blade is fairly soft, but that also makes it a ton easier to sharpen. this is a small EDC tool people, not a flippin rescue tool. quit complaining about things like tanto blades and oxygen wrenches.

Very good multitool. On all four of my deployments I have been issues a Gerber multitool. Those all came with a cover. This one does not. I have since put those away and use this one exclusively. It is the right size for what i need it for. I have been using it for about two months now and liked it so much I have purchased for more: I gave one to each of my three NCOs and am keeping a back up one. I do wish the pliers were spring loaded, but that may have added to the bulk.

I love the Crucial. Its the perfect size for EDC. I love the belt clip. I have pwned other multi-tools in the past and hated how fat and bulky they were. I also hated carrying them on my belt which is why I never had them with me. The crucial is perfect. The belt clip makes it really easy to carry and it's not much fatter than a medium sized pocket knife. The knife and strap cutter deploy easily with one hand and the other tools are easy to get to also. It's perfect.

The tool is of great quality. It came in very handy during a transport one day. One of the individuals being transported complained of chest pains and collapsed out of his seat. The strap cutter was used to cut off his outer garments so the AED could be applied. The simplicity of use and the quality of the product. I believe helped save that persons life.

Great tool. I was looking for a small tool that could open electrical boxes at work without resulting to a tool box. This tool fits the bill. It also will do many chores around the house and shop. It's become my go to tool after replacing larger more bulky tools that require pouches. It locks up tight and the blade is easy open. The clip holds the tool securly. The strap cutter can even be used to open beer bottles.

Good tool guys. I EDC it daily. Love the black version, so light you don't even notice it.

I have used mine for about a year. The locking blade is rock solid. The narrow/thin pliers have allowed me to work in tight spaces on my motorcycle. Suggestion.....Make an "XL" ,larger/longer version. Same features, just bigger. A spring loaded pliers would be great.

I have used this tool for over a year. Mine is not black, but its the same tool as shown. I love the tool, but the belt clip is a weak shame. It really brings down the value of the knife. The screws loosen, and then strip when you try to tighten them up. I ended up taking the clip off and using a pouch that I bought. Still use it everyday, and other than the clip I love it. I would recommend this tool, but save yourself the frustration and use a pouch in the first place.

I received mine with the Evo as a package deal and I love it. Have had no problems with craftsmanship, knife cuts well, strap cutter is beast, and is easier to manage than the larger suspension for example. I'd recommend it to a friend for sure.

great tool for edc. the knife was sharp out of the box, the tools are all frame lock, the pliers are strong and the wire cuter works like a char. if i were ever caught in an emergency i would want this toll by my side. overall great tool!

The Gerber Crucial Multi-Tool (Clam, Black) offers an entire toolbox of full-sized components in one rugged stainless steel package. The handles are ergonomically curved for a better grip and more torque. The liner-locking knife blade is half fine edge and half serrated. Built with a clip and weighing just five ounces, the Crucial can also be carried as an everyday pocket tool.
