In 2009 this knife was left on my UH60, I've carried it ever since. I've never had to tighten the screws, the locking mechanism is smooth and with some minor sharpening it is my favorite knife. I found another one in a thrift store and bought it to give to my son. I would recommend this to anyone.

No play in the blade, not so stiff you cant get the blade to move and easy to use one handed. I got this blade and was very surprised at the weigh very light weigh but not a cheap feeling. Plus it pretty sharp.

Great size for edc but disappointed with the lock once it's open it's open. It's closing it is the problem. It's so hand to get my finger in there to release the lock I need a key to push it down to close the blade.

I got this in a special 3 pack. At first thought it somewhat cheap. I've had it only a month, and it is my smoothest flipper I now have. I'm a knife dude. If not for some of my better knives, I could easily see this being my edc, and have already started carrying it on occasions. Fantastic blade, no play in it as well. Very solid I'm beyond impressed!

Got one of these slightly used, appears to be almost new. It is a good pocket folder, though a little stiff to deploy the blade. Also the liner lock could be .002 or .003 looser as it occasionally does not lock due to tight clearance. I just use this as a utility knife so always assure it is locked. All in all a good little folder from a reliable manufacturer.

I have the red anodized aluminum handle with fine edge it's a very reliable knife no failures the lock face geometry is great that means it won't wear quick and it won't fail and cut you the only this is the steel 7cr17mov isn't that great sharpens pretty easy but don't hold it edge for long even after I did a even 20 degree on both sides of the edge 40 degrees inclusive and it rolled a burr that I can easily fix with my vermeil stone on my worksharp precision adjust, if the steel was bumped up to 8cr/aus8/9crwould give it an5/5 the handle is comfortable, the blade finish is good, it's a little thick behind the edge but I don't mind, top notch anodization it's held up great, great clip, textures is good, lock up is great and it's smooth to open and close, has nylon washers so it won't drop shut but it's really smooth to deploy for washers all in all Gerber is 1 of my favorite companies

I purchased mine in Kuwait in 2005. Carried it for 12 month everyday in Iraq on deployment. 18 years later it still handles the business. Can't go wrong with Gerber.

Like others have said, this could be a great edc knife if it was made with better steel. I've owned one for 7 years and like everything else about it. It just doesn't hold an edge well. Gerber, I'll by a new one if you put better steel in it!

love the size and easy one hand flick ability. just wished they used at least a mid range steel like vg-10 or d2 or somethin.

I have an Air Ranger that I purchased many years ago, it has the old Gerber logo with "International" written under it and it was made in Taiwan. After all the years I've owned it, it is still one of my favorite knives. The weight, balance, quality construction and the steel used, make it one of my go to knives, whether for EDC or on a backpacking trip, and still looks new.

Great knife to carry and to go place. Would recommend, but the price is a little much for the knife. Overall it is a good and handy knife.

Great knife. Slim. Light weight. Handle perfect for a medium hand (size 7 1/2)... not too big. Tight clip, stays fast on hospital scrub pants which are as thin as a t-shirt. Clip may be too tight for jeans or carharts. Any knife stays sharp...if you keep it sharp. These are easy to sharpen and hold an edge. I bought 2, I wish I bought 5 more. Professional, clean, not scary or intimidating so it can be used in a professional environment. Big enough and tough enough to be USED.

Bought this while traveling due to air restrictions well over 5 yrs ago. Best luck I had on whole trip. Stays sharp and tight with minimum effort. Never any rust or tarnish. Used it in police work, military, hunting and fishing. Buying another as back up for when I break or lose it. I'm rough on my tools. Small, light and efficient. Perfect.

I FOUND one of these in the road at a busy intersection while riding. Saw it, picked it up, took it home and sharpened it. I've had this knife for over 5 years and NEVER has it ever rusted. One of the best knives i've ever owned and like it better than the gator i have. Love the slim aluminum handle.

The air ranger is the best knife I have ever owned. I am a fourth degree black belt and I own and operate my own martial arts school. For over 15 years I have trained people in self defense with a large focus on knives. The air ranger is the only knife that I have carry on me every day for the last 13 years. Great job William Harsey, Jr. and Gerber.

I have been caring this knife for approximately 25 years. I have several of them in various colors, both styles of blades that I care one of them on a daily basis. I have never had a problem with them. They hold an edge, stand up to any task that I put them to. I love them for their light weight and durability. If I could give them 10 stars I would

I have already owned, and still use the G10 Air Ranger, but after finding this one on sale at a large outdoor retailer, I couldn't pass up another, or two. This one features serrations and an aluminum handle to contrast the straight edge and g10 scale of the other version. I didn't even give a second thought to purchasing a this version for the price. If you are a simple, casual knife user, this is a great EDC for you to start with, or have on hand in a desk drawer or backpack.

I have never had a problem with my 5+ year old Air Ranger. If yours is rusting (It is because you got a defect from some crap vendor who doesn't care), loosing clip screws (IF CLIP SCREWS ARE LOOSE GET A T6 BIT...TIGHTEN IT WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT AND YOU WON'T EVER HAVE THAT PROBLEM), and when breaking the clip you are the problem I'm 245 pounds and have never broke the clip from sitting on it...mine went through hell and back in Afghanistan. ***It should be noted that regular cleaning, sharpening, and general upkeep WILL FIX ALL PROBLEMS PEOPLE HAVE LISTED***

The knife was great at first, but the clip came loose after about 5 weeks and one screw has fallen out. Junk for this price point.

My brother gave each of his groomsmen one of these as part of their gift. Its been nearly a year since the wedding and I carry it daily, and use it for pretty much everything. It's light weight, versatile and keeps it's blade. I've had no issues with the screws like others have suggested.

Love this knife - I chose it because it's all metal, light. However, but I've had mine for for less than a year and 2/3 if the clip screws have come loose and can't be tightened.

Bought this knife well over ten years ago and it has been with me everyday since. Loved it so much that I bought them for my two grown sons. They loved it too but both had the problem of the clip screws coming loose. It'd get 5 stars if it weren't for that!!

Bought 2 of these, and both clips broke while they were in my back pocket. Both were replaced under warranty. One of the clips just broke again. Other than that I like the knife.

I bought this knife on the Cabela's Cyber Monday sale and from the moment it arrived I loved it. Great construction and materials, the blade never loses an edge and fits nice in the pocket. But 5 months later the screws holding the clip on pulled out of the threaded holes and the clip was lost in the woods. Would buy again If this problem is acknowledged.

I have carried this knife since I decovered it right after Gerber came out with it. Grew up on the farm so I have always carried a pocket knife of some sorts. I feel in love with the Air Ranger. When I find them at a good price I purchase 3 or 4 in case I loose one or give it away. I have never found a knife so comfortable and lite weight and still perform anything I ask of it

This is a perfect EDC knive. You don't notice it in your pocket. Clip is nice and strong. The serrations help with cutting occasional plant life and vines sometiems around the house. Fine edge blade for everything else. While at a crab place for dinner one time, was exasperated with the ineffectiveness of the cheesy plastic shell openers they had, pulled this outta my pocket and made quick work of removing the shell and extracting the crab meat. Re-Sharpens easily. Don't have to re-sharpen very often. Handle super grippy even with fats/grease/blood on your fingers. This is definitely a one-hand operation knife.

The Gerber Air Ranger Serrated Edge Knife feels in your hand that just makes you feel like you're ready for anything. And it has mostly to do with the checkering on the machined aluminum grip; precision texturing that can only be accomplished on sophisticated CNC machining equipment. The tactile sensation is very high when gripped, which translates into an unusual-Degree of dexterity, which translates into confidence.
