Worked great on my Dell laptop and MacBook pro. Now I can edit images and create much more accurate white balance and my reds aren't so strong.

Use it for home. Took a while to set up since I have to download the software for Win 7. Once the software is installed it's fairly easy to use. But the instructions are too poor. Have to guess which program to use for what purpose. So far only used Eye-One Match 3 software to calibrate the monitor and haven't had time what the other programs are used for (Eye-One Share, etc)

The software in the carton has little value if you are using Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) You need to go to the X-rite website to download the proper program file. You will not be able to use this file unless you UNINSTALL whatever you loaded from the CD. Don't think you can simply download the WIN 7 drivers, don't ask me how I know this. The CD software other than the main program is optional. The only device that this program and device will calibrate is the monitor, even if the projector, scanner icons and others show up (they are grayed out). Having done everything wrong at least twice, and then following the online tutorials, the gizmo actually seems to work fine. Editing in Lightroom3 and Photoshop CS4 is significantly improved. You can even evaluate your ambient light conditions and (in my case) dial down the luminance to further improve editing. I have gone back into previously edited image files and did them over to see the improvements. FYI, I also use the specific paper profiles for my Epson R1900 and together my prints are now borderline excellent.

I always felt that one of my screens had a purple touch, and this product corrected for this. Now the color rendition certainly looks more akin on my different (LCD/LED) monitors than before, but there is still a slight difference between my laptop and a secondary lcd. Still, I now feel much more secure when adjusting my photos.

Monitor calibration was easy and my prints are coming out exactly as they look on the monitor. Videos are included to walk you through the process, but it is straightforward and simple.

Easy to use at the default settings, maybe more difficult if you want to modify monitor beyond defaults. Creates a profile that is surely better than the standard. I get a reasonable approximation on my LCD. My CRT, which runs on the same machine, has distinctively different tones and hue. You can attribute that to the unavoidable difference between the CRT and the LCD, but if the X-Rite profiles are really supposed to standardize the screens, the fact that the screens are nowhere near the same even after they are both calibrated raises some questions about the product's ability to do what it claims.

I was able to install the software but it failed to recognize the device. Therefore the product was simply unusable with Windows 7. The documentation is unforgivably inadequate. There is simply nothing helpful in the skimpy documentation. I would NOT buy another product from X-rite unless I saw it demonstrated to me on my system first. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

The X-Rite Eye-One Display 2 is an excellent product. Simple to set up for the layman, yet has advanced features for more experienced users. The product does exactly what it is supposed to do. It makes your monitor's color as good as it can be.

BE SURE AND USE THE ADVANCED-USER MODE! We did not get adequate calibration with the i1 Display2 until we started using the Advanced-User mode. The i1 Display2 works so well and CONSISTENTLY giving GOOD and ACCURATE matches to our prints! We've owned both the Eye-One as well as the Spyder-3 Elite. The Spyder is MUCH EASIER TO USE, whereas for someone who's new to monitor calibration, the Eye-One lacks intuitive instructions, but as POPULAR as the Eye-One is, and as EXCELLENT as their support is, If I had to replace ours tomorrow it'd be with another Eye-One. Both devices are GOOD! However, on our equipment we've personally had better consistency with the xrite.

I was blown away after seeing the results when I ordered prints after I had calibrated my monitor with this!! the colors are virtually the same fromt prints and monitor and the exposure of the shots matching the prints to monitor are 99.9% the same too!!! Do yourself a favor and get yourself one of these! I calibrated a Power Mac and Two iMacs and the screens are all the same too now..Yay!

I cannot believe what a difference this made when I compared a print I made in Lightroom (friend's file) a few weeks ago to the monitor after it was profiled (using the advanced mode). Very stunning on how close the colors and detail are now from the screen to the print.

I'm a photo student, so spending this kind of money on something that isn't a lens or additional lighting gear, was a lot to swallow. But after my previous cheaper color management tools were no longer giving me accurate results, I had to step up to something bigger and better. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. Accurate color every single time.

This product helps color calibrate your monitor so that when you print, what you see on the screen is as close as possible to the finished product. It does its job well and I would not be without it.

I wanted to ensure the color on my monitor was accurate. This product does deliver that. In advanced mode, you need to be able to select the white balance in your room, a step I had trouble with and ended up estimating. There are also steps to help set brightness and contrast. I found these to not work well, and ended up setting my own levels. The easy mode ended up doing as good of a job as expert, and much easier to do. So, with that said, I would probably not get this item again, and would opt for a simpler solution.

I am not a pro so for me this is the perfect product. Pros may be able to tell the slight difference in color but not me. Prints look like they do on screen (maybe a little darker but I don't have the printer profiled) My only caution is when installing on a Vista machine. The included setup disk is from 2005 and does not run on Vista. The only way to find that out is to install and then when you get problems go to the X-Rite website. When you go to the troubleshooting part of the website it tells you not to use the disk but to actually download the Vista version frome their website (a little late for that now don't you think.) Took some doing but I finally got it to work and now it is a breeze to run new profiles. I like mine.

The product did what it was supposed to. My test prints from my lab matched my screen after calibration. There were VERY limited instructions. I would warn people that after calibration your screen may look very different. Especially whites and your brightness level. You will get use to it!

This was a GREAT BUY!!! Before purchasing this device I was having problems with print images that matched the image that I was seeing on my monitor. After I profiled my monitor, i was able to get a better print with out having to re-print over and over again. I made my money back on my 1st photo shoot!!!!

Unfortunately the product up to now is unworkable. Constant error messages. [...] Instrument not been able to be used for what it has been sold for.Thrown away [$]. Guarantee questionable. Endeavoring to work through issues with X-rite.

Works as advertised. Easy to install and use. For the cost, it would benefit from: a) additional documentation besides the "quick start guide" that comes with it. Could include a booklet about how to better setup lights in your work space, as an example b) again, for the price, should come with a pouch or similar to store the sensor when not in use. Would I buy it again? YES Would I recommend it? YES

I had a somewhat hard time seting up my Samsung LCD, and NVidia graphics to give good color rendition. The Gretag enabled me to get my monitor set up properly in one iteration; a reference print from my printing lab appeared almost spot on.

A simple yet effective solution for monitor profiling. The process is literally foolproof and the results are great. The only thing I don't like is that the ambient light head is rather hard to remove - to the extent that I'm afraid that it might break one day.

I'll make it simple. This product is: - Easy to setup (nothing to it) - Easy to use (ditto) - Does what it says with great results I can't tell you how much this product has improved my digital workflow. Well worth it. And they have great (free) upgrade software support too.

The only con, which really isn't a con at all, is that it took me a while to get the cord on the puck staightened out so it would lay flat and hang straight on my LCD display. When the adjustments are complete, it displays a color board and portrait photo, and allows you to switch back and forth between before and after settings so you can see the difference.

I've used other calibration products but this one is fast (3 minutes or so) , doesn't crash my computer, and automatically stores the new profiles in the right place. It optimizes the screen output and creates a profile for it in one step. My system: Mac Pro, OS 10.4.8, apple 30" monitor.

This kit fits the bill for those wanting a no-nonsense means of generating monitor profiles. Both LCD and CRT monitors are supported. The program is easy to use; it takes the user through a wizard to select the monitor type, desired color temperature, puck placement, etc, and then runs and automatically installs the generated profile. There was a combination of wizard settings for LCD monitors that caused the program to hang, but I was able to work around it. Also, the suction cups on the puck lost their ability to maintain a grip after only a few months, so it is now necessary to physically hold the puck in place. There isn't much in the way of bells and whistles available in the fancier and, accordingly, much more expensive kits, but this product is geared for home use. As such, it provides a fairly low-cost entrypoint to a color-managed photo-editing environment.
