I have used several similar modifiers, this one tops them all. Very easy to set up, the 12 sides make a nearly round catch light. Super easy set up. the carry bag even fits an s-bracket for some strobes. I can recommend this for sure.

TL;DR: Nice and portable. Sets up and collapses reasonably easy. Longer review: The Glow Softbox comes with a carrying case, a mount for both an off-camera flash setup or mounting the softbox to strobes, and two diffusive sheets. It folds down nicely to fit into a carrying case a little bigger than what you'd have for a tripod, if not quite long enough to carry the tripod with it. Both diffusive layers work nicely and even with a low-power flash such as the godox tt350 it creates a lot of light indoors. However there are some issues. Setup is relatively easy, however the mechanism that flares the umbrella is, for lack of a better word, stiff. It takes a good deal of force to get the fingers of the umbrella up into the catches around the full circle and it feels like you might break something though I doubt you will. Then getting it to collapse again for storage requires a lot of pressure on the two sets of release mechanisms. This is not to say its bad, just be prepared as it will require a lot of strength to get the umbrella assembled and collapsed down.

This soft box gets the job done, materials are pretty good for the price, but I've had two major problems with it: 1) To make use of the Bowens mount, you have to detach a smaller adapter made for smaller flashes screwed into the front, which is made easy by removing 3 screws. For the life of me (and the poor little screwdriver included), I and a few others could not remove this adapter with any other type of screwdriver, and I had to make the executive decision to cut it off entirely, rendering it useless and probably boiling any sort of warranty/protection program. As I only plan on using this softbox with a bigger strobe, it's not the end of the world for me, but if you plan on using this soft box back and forth between big strobe units & smaller flashes, this could be a dealbreaker. 2) The mechanism to collapse the soft box is the worst I've ever used, it jams & locks up way too much for my liking. I would say there's a 50/50 chance that you'll actually be able to close the soft box, it's that bad. I couldn't tell you the amount of times I've left photoshoots embarrassed because I had to pack a wide open soft box in my car because I could not collapse it. I've kept this soft box because it came at a great deal included in a strobe kit, and when it actually works it works just fine, but I could not recommend this to anyone due to the build quality.

This equipment is so awesome. The kit was exactly what I needed and the GlowPop is an excellent accessory for these strobes. The C-Stands are incredible. I thought to myself ?I?ll get the kit, sell the c-stands, and maybe splurge on some extra accessories.? NOPE! I don?t think I?ll ever part with them. They were a necessity I didn?t know I needed.

This parapop & Bowens adapter are perfect for my indoor Christmas family photo. I love how the light is soft & not over exposed on their faces. The ugly huge shadow behind everyone is gone too. Thank you Adorama for fast service & educational videos.

Decent price especially when it was on sale, but the build quality of this is a little lacking. Almost stripped all three Phillips head screws when changing out from speed light to Bowens mount. The provided screwdriver is near useless and honestly could've been worse than useless had I not switched over to one of my own screwdrivers after growing impatient with it. Other than that I'm sure I'm going to get years of good service out of this softbox. It's a decent price with a solid closing mechanism. Just be aware of that.

Great on-the-go modifier! Easy to set up and take down. Lightweight and super portable! The light it produces is soft and even! This is my second purchase of the same product because I love it so much! I use OCF most often outdoors on-location and this is just the perfect size and versatility for my work!

Pairs well with the AD400 Pro. Opens and closes in seconds, and the diffuser and baffle remain in place. Some reviews mentioned the difficulty of closing the softbox with the two release levers, but I have found that if you follow recommendations to first place the softbox facedown on a firm surface that it becomes a very easy operation.

I love this soft box for a couple reasons. First, it gives a beautiful light when used with my Flashpoint Xplore 600 monolight. Second, I have a number of soft boxes and they are not easy to tear down and setup! So much so, that they just stay assembled all the time, and any time I need to go on location and fold things up, the Parapop comes with. You can get huge soft boxes for in the studio, but I find the 38 inch is a great compromise between portability, and softer light.

Glow Parapop 38 Inch, so far so good, having setup the smaller 28 inch version before made it easier, the screw driver they give to remove the mount to put on the regular Bowens mount is practically worthless , it is too small for the amount of torque you need to apply to remove the 3 screws, luckily I had a computer tool kit with the required very small philips head, using it it with a Flashpoint Ad300 Pro and the S2 bracket, it works great pushing the 2 squeeze points is actually easier than on the 28 inch Parapop, looking forward to getting years of service with this softbox.

Beautiful quality of light and super fast setup! Highly recommended!

This softbox produces beautiful flattering light when used at close distances. I've seen many concerns by other reviewers about the rods slipping out of the base. The only reason that the rods slip out (it happened to me until I did some research for the following simple solution) is that users had not yet attached the elastic loops to the base's prongs. These small loops are attached to the fabric of the softbox and attach to a small prong where EACH ROD inserts into the base on the plast...

My favorite softbox
By Joel N.
I rarely write reviews but I decided to for this product. I have a lot different lights that all use the Bowens mount. I have softboxes from Bowens, Profoto, Photoflex, Westcott and Glow. Other than size and shape most of them produce no more or no less image quality than the other. Some are heavier material than others. What I absolutely love about the Parapop is that it collapses with the depressing of two releases on the mount. When you have either a lot of large modifiers and want to get ...

The Glow ParaPop 28 brings the ease and quality of our very successful Glow HexaPop line to studio and large portable strobes, featuring flattering, soft and rich color lighting with all the great advantages of the softbox/umbrella blend.
The unique 12-sided shape and parabolic profile 28 inch diameter by 19.5 inch depth, provides a big 105-degree light spread in a light, space saving package. The shadows are slight and beautifully graduated. Colors are saturated and vibrant without the flat pancake 'flashpan' look of direct strobe. Even the highlights and catchlights are more appealing. A full and voluptuous light that caresses your subject.
The lightweight ParaPop opens easily and positively locks to create the perfect reflector diffuser. The ultra efficient parabolic reflector has virtually no fall-off from edge to edge. Glow engineers use UV-A and UV-R diffuser materials and are exceptionally heat resistant. The internal silver reflector fabric rivals all other flexible materials, imitating polished lame. Your flashhead, monolight or speedlight attaches to the speedring assembly to almost all brands of flashes.
GLOW PARAPOP materials and construction are superior. The critical ingredients in any softbox are the internal reflective fabric, the front diffuser/baffle and the shape of the box. Super strength silvered grid fabric finely line the interior surfaces of the box and add a crisp quality to the output. Light spread is extremely even, pleasing and contrast balanced. Reinforced support rod pocket, seams and Velcro closures make assembly and setup trouble-free. The highlight /shadow ratio is optimized with a concentrated focus of illumination from the special bowl reflector, reverse umbrella design. There is exceptional light efficiency in this design and the flattering results reveal human form with grace and warmth.
The Glow ParaPop is commonly used for Portraits, Studio, Travel and more. The Glow PARAPOP is most used by customers who consider themselves to be a Professional, Semi-professional and lovers of imaging. The Glow PARAPOP is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Glow PARAPOP: Durable, Easy to use, Lightweight and Reliable. This is an ideal source for individual portraits while doubling as a superstar on location. The 28" PARAPOP combines the strength of a portrait key light while acting as a soft wrap, blending perfectly with additional fill soft lights. The most popular uses of this softbox shape are for fashion, portrait, and beauty photography, plus, it's a natural for children.

The marriage of the softbox to the umbrella.
Not so unusual today. But this baby was born to bring joy to all the users of flashes, popular in today's dedicated shoe strobes, with harsh, sharp and hard quality, endemic of zoom fresnel panel design.
Softboxes diffuse and spreads light through baffles and reflection, but primarily the light is directly reaching the subject. As the nature of the source light is so widely distributed, it reaches all surfaces with less contrast, filling in details and shadows at the expense of ill defined contours. Less control of light path - divergent.
Umbrellas produce soft focused light from reflected curved surfaces. The sharper quality of directional light beams makes for a more seductive treatment for people and skin tones. Light aimed at the center focal point bounces off the internal surfaces at different angles, but leaves the umbrella as parallel rays.
The product of this marriage of softbox and umbrella: A parabolic umbrella that does not cast divergent or convergent light creating more natural sun-like shadows and fill light. The parabolic reflector shape directs all the light in one controllable direction. By adding the diffuser design more beautiful light caresses the subject.
