EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR !

Great tripod feel. The 'feet' of the unit are weighted just right. The base is 'floppy' so it doesn't matter which rental car I happen to get, it stays EXACTLY where I put it. Only drawback is that there is no case that will fit this and the streetpilot... so I throw the GPS unit in the case... and the base in my backpack. If you travel in the states that outlaw the window mount... you'll never have to think about it again... and it doesn't leave 'sucker prints' on your window. ;-)
