One good on DOA

I ordered two of these light-stands for studio lighting. One of the lightstands works very well. The other one does not work as a air cushion at all(drops like a rock). I tested them with my Nikon SB 600 Speedlight mounted on them. The one that does not work as an air cushion drops just like a normal(non-air-cushion)lightstand. The other stand works very well, it retract very slowly like a hydraulic dampener. I was very pleased with it. That said: They are made with metal and high-impact plastic. The one that works well is definitely worth the price the other one is not. If you do not need an air cushion stand and want a reasonably well-made light stand that is very stable(big foot print) then the stand might be worth the money.

Lightly cushioned lightstand

This is a light-weight, light-duty stand. The air cushined 2 - section stand only buffer their own weight, not with any attachments, like lights! However, it is pretty sturdy, opens and closes easily. The value is equal to the price.
