An excellent raid choice. Fast, easy to set up, and worth the high price tag. Especially with the swappable drives. A little noise when working directly off of it but as RAID storage it can?t be beat.

I've used G-Technology for over a decade now, with multiple units, and never lost data. I do back up extensively and have 5 sets of redundant drives in 3 locations. This raid drive is a high quality unit - dependable, long lasting, solid tech support from G-tech, both US (better) and Philippines, and you can swap out the drives for larger capacity at a later date.

When we got it the first time the drive actually failed, but when we called they said that never happens and sent a new one. We have not had issues (particularly as it's raided) since. It's easy to set-up and clear when its working/how the raided system works.

I was looking for a good desktop storage solution that provided enough room for my growing library of photos. Using the G-RAID mirrored for 10TB of usable storage is a good balance between performance and redundancy. My only complaint is that the drives are not as quiet as I would like. The fan is silent, but the drive access seems to happen even when the unit is not doing anything. I've discussed this with G-Technology and don't really have a good answer. However, it is a small issue and to date, I've been happy with the solution. I'm using this attached to a MacBook Pro over Thunderbolt 3.

I've only had the drive array for a few weeks but so far it appears to be a good purchase. I like the appearance and ease of setup, although I had to search the internet for Windows 10 setup. One thing Purchasers should be aware of is that this is a rather noisy drive IMO. I contacted tech support and they had me run some performance tests which showed it performing per spec. I have it connected to a USB 3 port and it is fast...

I love this hard drive! It comes with a Thunderbolt cord so transfer rates are super fast. That's important to me because I use this instead of my actual computer's hard drive.

I have had this drive for about a month now. It was easy to set up using Time Machine on my iMac. It backed-up all my files plus 2TB of photos quickly and has been making incremental back-ups ever since. It seems to be built like a tank and I expect it to be very durable. If I wanted to be picky, It does make a little more noise than I'd like but my wife says the same about my snoring. I highly recommend this drive and btw, I give very few 5 star ratings.

Great product. It was very easy to setup and the HDMI port is a plus. If you use it in RAID 0 like I do, make sure you have adequate backup scheme in place.

Been using this to backup all my raw photos.. It now contains 8TB of pics I've taken since about 2004 so have another 8TB free for future shots.. Would give it 5 stars if I knew how long it will last.. Oh and I did have to reformat for my PC..

I use this to store all my RAW photo files and with the fast Thunderbolt connection to my iMac working on them in Lightroom and Photoshop is fast and easy. The drive is very quiet compared to my older Pegasus. Setting it up was a piece of cake since it was already configured for Mac. You can't go wrong with this drive and the price is right for the enterprise class drives!

I was convinced reading the specs that this storage unit would be what I needed. The only glitch out of the box was getting it to power up. For the first minute or so, I thought it was DOA. Suddenly, it decided to start up and I have no other concerns.
