We use to use LaCie Drives but whenever there was a problem, they could not care less, just shunt you to a third party data recovery company who wants an arm and a leg to get the data. Switched to G-TECH, and we now have 18 of their drives. Only one of them ever showed a problem (making noises) and G-Tech replaced it with no hassle. Highly recommend G-Tech for reliability, durability and support.

FireWire doesn't work with time machine. Thought it just applied to the older versions, but unfortunately when I tried to set it up to sync it kept giving an error. Ended up getting the USB version and it works fine.

The eSata is so fast to back / copy files. I really like it as it also has firewire 800/400 and USB 3.0. Great Drive as this is my second one. Tim

I love these hard drives. I've been using as my main file storage for years and now have the 3 drives stacked.

I wish I had looked into these drives sooner. We have been using mirrored drives from another mfg and found the interface to fail, leaving the data unusable. Not a good thing when you need to access over 98,000 original images on an ongoing basis. Since we have older Mac's, we need to use Firewire 800 (instead of the newer Thunderbolt) interface and these are becoming harder to find. This drive was very easy to set up and run, and we were successful in recovering all but three images from the other drive. I have noticed a faster access to images along with transfers when we are exporting too! I would recommend this external drive as it seems to be built like a tank and handles very heavy use.
