Giottos MH 645 quick Release Plate
This plate fits my Nikon 3100 well and works well on it. My problem comes when I put it on my Nikon P510. It covers the SD and battery compartment. I end up having to take it off in order to switch out the SD card or battery.

The Adorama web site is very confusing as to which QR plate fits which tripod head and customer support wasn't sure either, so I had to call Giottos direct to find out that this QR plate fit my VGR 9254 S2C tripod with the VH6011 head. It doesn't automatically slide over the safety button like the original QR plate, but I just push in the side button and it slides on just fine.

Gotta have it.
If you have the tripod,you need several of these.

Works great!
Granted, I've never tried Kirk or RRS but for my money, I think Giottos heads and legs offer the best value (compromise between stability and cost) in tripods.
