Exceeded My Expectations
I bought this item, MH500 Pro Quick Release Adapter and Plate, because my cameras do not have centered tripod sockets and other Q/R plates hang over the edge. I use this system to emulate an old time tripod that you screw the camera onto. Take out the plate, screw it into the camera's tripod socket, and set the plate into the Q/R base. For how long did photographers do without Q/R systems? Plan your work.
The description has a warning about proper fitting with ballheads. If the ballhead stem has a 3/8-16 female opening, this item fits. It is a perfect fit on my FLM CB-38 ballhead.

Solid, and Somewhat Quick
I am using this with my Nikon D7000 and Giottos MH1000 ball head. It is a little bulky and screws down, rather than levers down, but if you need a solid release that does not slip and is very stable, this is a good one to get.

Sturdy quick release plate
Fits the MH1001 ball head perfectly. Creates a compact head/plate that provides a sturdy platform for my dSLR. Well made and simple.
