Just Bought My Second One
I needed a new tripod, so rather than try a new one out to complement my existing silk road, I simply bought another one. Love it. As a street and event photographer, I like tripods that are 1) light, 2) quick to set up, and 3) sturdy. So this meets all of those requirements.

excellent tripod
Absolutely rock solid with a gimbal head and super zoom 150600 lens. Would buy again, and readily recommend this tripod. Excellent value.

Strong as a Missouri mule
This is the most stable tripod I have had todate. Once it is setup nothing including high winds can budge it. While too heavy for long hikes it makes a great car-carrying camera securing tripod. Adjusting the legs and the center pole gets it down to ground level for securing in-focus foregrounds when photographing landscapes.

Every Bit of Heavy Duty
Excellent tripod. Solid system and very well constructed. This was specifically purchased for my D800 with a 80-200 mounted in mind. I feel very confident with the security the Giottos 9114 affords. I don't have to use a center post and can still get down to 11". I recommend for anyone that's not afraid of a little extra weight.

Make this your first tripod.
Delivers just as described. Have found nothing to fault this tripod. Best of all it is compact enough to fit on my backpack easily. Highly recommend this product.
