Shopper : Will they fit a series 1 tripod Gitzo Traveler?DAVID H : I'm not sure as I bought them for my series 3 tripod. But the shoes strap on and may work. I have not had an opportunity to use them other than try them on my tripod for fit (still waiting on snow). I think the photographer would need to remove them after use as I think you may end up losing them if you carried them on a folded tripod. I could not find reviews on these shoes when I purchased mine. I wish I had purchased the ones that directly screw into the legs replacing the screw in feet. But try them and if they do not work, return them.CHARLES D : I don't have that tripod, but my hunch is the answer is yes. The shoes have a stretchable rubber closure that fits feet up to about an inch in diameter. The closure can open up to let the foot in and then can be "snapped" back closed. The closure mechanism is adjustable to smaller sizes as well. The picture provided is inaccurate to the version I received. I actually have not used these shoes in the field because on my snowshoeing trips I found that putting rubber furniture caps on the leg ends of my tripod worked rather well in most snow, and was cheaper and lighter and more compact. The Gitzo shoes would be good for really soft, dry snow, though I would expect that they should be tamped down a bit for a solid stance and also to keep them for disappearing in the deep drifts.ANDREW R : These feet fit the following carbon fiber series tripods which do not accept threaded feet: 1127, 1128, 1227, 1228 & 1325

Never used it...

Got this thinking it would be great for snow. A little worried the shoes will fall off the legs. Never used it.

All Terrain shoes

I bought two pairs of these some time back. Thes weekend I was on the Oregon Coast taking picture out on the sandy beach. The sunset was great and the tide was busting all over the rocks and rolling in around my feet. As the water was going out I could feel my feet sinking into the sand from the fast retreating waters, but my tripod with shoes stayed right where I had placed them. Two reasons, 1 the bottom has a great deep pattern so it digs into the sand. Second, the top surface is shapped like a track and field disk and the water just sweep over the top. They are easy to put on and off.
