Pricey, but you get what you pay for. The height is great if you are around 6' tall, no stooping to the camera!

Great for traveling

It is tall enough for me to put my eye on the viewfinder without bending down. I'm 6'2" I use it with a Canon EOS-1Ds Mk III and EF 70-200 f2.8L lens and it is very steady. Adorama had a great price.

Sturdy

Excellent Monopod

I couldn't be happier with this monopod. It is compact, lightweight and very well built. If you are looking for something that will let you add stability, but will not weigh you down, this is it.

Perfect monopod.

A little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Using it with RSS MH-01 (Hi-Capacity Monopod Head)and their B2-Pro II clamp. I was a little worried about capacity, but have no problem with stability even if I use it with my Nikon 200-400mm f/4 lens mounted on a Nikon D-300 with battery pack. It is extremely light.

Gitzo GM2541 is a Series 2 Four-Section 6x carbon fibre monopod. Monopods are traditionally used at sports events and in situations where space is tight and framing speed is a key factor. The ideal monopod needs to be lightweight, extremely fast to open and close. Thanks to ALR and G-Lock, Gitzo monopods have all these features. All new monopods feature the new Gitzo belt clip. This clip, incorporated in the wrist strap, is a smart carrying solution that allows you to hang your monopod on belts or pockets.

Gitzo GM2541 Features

  • Safe Lock: Safe Lock is a special techno polymer that maximises locking torque and equipment stabilisation. It is used on the upper discs of tripods and heads, and in applications where the equipment is rotated and screwed onto the support to eliminate micro movements and vibration.
  • ALR: Gitzo has introduced a new Anti Leg Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually.
  • Carbon Fiber Tube 6X: Gitzo 6X is the most advanced carbon fiber tube in the market and guarantees structural strength, flexion rigidity and great vibration absorption properties.
