Quality Construction
The case is a great case but I rated it a 3 star because it does not fit the model Gitzo the I own(GT2331). The padded legs on this aluminum tripod make it too bulky of the case. The next step up in case size is too big to easily use for carryon while traveling. The quality and padding meet my requirements and expectation, but it is just too small for my application. I would recommend this case to friends and associates, but only for other 2000 series tripods from Gitzo.

Well constructed Product
I use this bag to transport my equipment when traveling. It is designed to give very good protection to equipment with a great deal of padding. My original intended use was for my GT2231 tripod, however, the padded sections of the tripod make the fit impossible.(not all Series 2 tripods will fit in this case). Outside of this, the only real issue is lack of space for the tripod head, both length and breadth. Standard ball heads with knobs prevent zippers from closing effectively.

Good case
I bought this case for my Gitzo GT2531 tripod. The tripod fits perfectly (snugly) inside with a ballhead attached. There's about an extra 2 inches of length inside to accommodate a slightly taller head, but I would not be sure this would accommodate a pan/tilt head so well. Construction is good, both outer material and padding. Zippers are heavy weight and seem robust. There is a fabric covering behind the zipper to prevent scratching of the contents. Strap has a sewn-in (immovable) pad at one end. So it seems as if the intention is to carry the tripod on your shoulder upright (like a rifle on a sling). There is a small, flat zippered pocket inside to carry a few items. There is a covered ID slot on the outside.
