A reliable drive. Built two raid 6s with 6TB drives and am beginning to wonder why I didn't go with raid 5s it would have saved me $. Yet to a have a drive fail.

The hard-drive seems to work well so far. Slots in easily. No problems. A warning though: Adorama ships it just by simply shrink-wrapping the box. There's basically no protection, so it's a risk.

I ordered 2 of these drives on separate orders from Adorama. I didn't receive my 1st order when I placed my second. The shipping packaging was no more than a shipping wrapper over the original hard drive box. The other e-retailers double box their drives. A full drive scan (5+ hours each) show no errors thank goodness. The manuf dates of the drives show they have been sitting around for a while. One was dated 11/2015 and other 4/2016. Some companies use this date for warranty purposes, so that has me concerned (more for the 2015). I'm still giving this 4 stars based on the history of HGST drives being reliable, but I may look at other vendors for HD purchases in the future - sorry.
