I mostly shoot portraits and fashion, but needed studio power while outdoors or mobil, this Porty Premium Plus fit the bill wonderfully as I rarely need all 1200ws so my flash count per battery was outstanding ( over 400 pops at 700-800ws with under 2 second recycle times.) But the only downside of carrying three battery drawers is they weighed over 11 Lbs. each..........BUT !!! Now I have replaced the lead cells with nice powerful Longer-Lasting LifeP04 ( Lithium iron phosphate) cells.....NOW All 3 Battery Drawers Together weigh no more than 12 Lbs. !! Which now makes this my favorite Pack for everything. The Hensel Mini Heads are beautifully made also and have never failed me once. **Advice, get the $38 extended range antenna as the standard one gets a little hit and miss over 60 feet. I really love the "Strobe wizard Plus" transmitter for this #4954 Pack, you can quickly dial in all your seperate head power levels right on your hotshoe, Has 3 separate channels and one that fires them all, also you can set each channels modeling light choices from same transmitter. I also have an L600 Porty that is great too. My only gripe is the inflated accessory prices, at least they are more sain then Broncolor and Profoto, but why does a white pendant reflector over your dining table cost $69, then that same reflector to fit your ringflash will cost over $500 ??? Otherwise Hensel makes great gear, check out the new Broncolor Move 1200ws pack, It's a knockoff of the Hensel L1200 Porty, same specs, same weight, same quality, Oh, But over Double the Price!!

I've had my porty premium plus for 2 years and use it on average 2 times a week since. It has taken a lot of abuse and still keeps on ticking. The color is always constant and its a very reliable unit. The cons: the antenna is easily broken off if you forget to remove it when transporting, a little heavy(but for the power it gives its worth a little workout), and the glass lights tend to break if you drop them from 6 feet in the air onto hard ground!!!:) Hahah.. I've done that a few times when I didnt use sandbags and they are a bit expensive to replace, but are easily replaced. Besides me breaking a few things the unit has never failed not once. I'm adding a porty 12 and I've been really happy with that. The weight difference of the batttery pack and my wallet after spending $3800 on it will help my back out!! Highly recommended on both units!

This is a great system which is very robust, weather sealed and flexible. The batteries are heavy though so if travelling expect to pay some excess baggage. However, they do last an exceptional amount of time. My one complaint about the system is the aerial which needs to screwed off before packing otherwise it is prone to breaking off. A fold down or retractable design would have been better. Also worth a note the system can be used with mains power without the battery in place making it the same as a normal powerpack.

The Hensel Porty Premium Plus 1200 Watt/Second Battery Strobe Kit with asymmetrical power distribution is the location photographer's main choice for a high-powered field strobe. This model includes a built-in Radio Slave Receiver, allowing wireless triggering, and power level control of the flash from the included 4 channel transmitter.
The EH Mini 1200 P flash head is smaller and lighter than the previous Porty head. Batteries may be exchanged within seconds with the battery drawer with quick release and handle for easy pull out. There is also an AC adapter which slides in and can be removed simply and quickly.
Power output for each head is adjustable over a 6 f/stop range in 0.1 f/stop increments, easily changeable by simply tapping or holding down the arrow buttons on the power pack panel or by using the radio transmitter.
