I realize you sent this a while ago, just found the message again in my email. You pull out the LED screen and slide the elastic over over it so the shade goes around the LED screen allowing you to see better in bright overhead light.HARRY W : The hoodman attaches to the camcorder screen via 2 velcro straps. it is sturdy enough . the only negative is that one must remove it in order to close the screen - am working on some way to swing it up when the viewfinder is closed.PETER S : The camcorder display goes on the end closest to you and the verticle straps you see go around the visplay. I could never find the size that would fit my camcorder and had to retun the Hoodman.SAYSAVATH R : If you notice the 2 straps in the picture, you would wrap that behind the LCD screen. It does work pretty well especially on a bright day where you want to keep the sun off the LCD.MARK P : The Hoodman you asked about
fits on the LCD when it is flipped out. It attaches with tewo elastic straps and some velcro. It tends to be somewhat flimsy, but works well once you get used to it. I do all of my filming in the desert at off road races and run two HD Video cams alternately. It is incredibly bright therre and since I work from the LCD and not the viewfinder, it makes it posssible to see what I am filming. Without it, I would only see a glare. It is worth it and I know you would feel the same.PAUL R D : You place it on the viewing screen (hood facing your eyes) and is attached with the velcro straps to the front.WAYNE S : It fits over the fold-out LCD screen to shade it from direct light so you can see it better. Works pretty good for the price. The elastic adjustable straps wrap around the back of the screen, easy to do.FREDERICK S : I understand your confusion. The front, part you are looking at is two elastic straps that un-attach from the bottom and go over the slip out screen. You screen will face inside.ROBERT H : The camera monitor goes between the velcro bands (the two black straps) and the shade.. They go over the camcorder monitor and hold the shade to the monitor.ANDREW R : This unit should just slip onto the flip-out LCD monitor on your camcorder.

Perfect. Just what I needed.

Does the job but could be better
I film the practice routines of a formation aerobatic flying team. The hood made it possible to use a camcorder without an eye piece oitdoors to do this work. Dimensionally the hood fits the screen well. However the elastic straps with Velco tabs that hold the hood on are much too short. They barely have enough holding power to over come the tension required to just pull them around the screen and touch the loop strips on the hood. One of the 2 strips no longer stays attached after only one use. I will have to modify it myself to add length so it will stay connected. Also the credit card processing on the site would not let me use our corporate card. I had to use my personal card to make the purchase.

GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE. NOT PERFECT BUT THE NEXT BEST THING. GREAT FOR VIEWING VIEWFINDER IN THE BRIGHT SUN IN LAS VEGAS

This is a Must Have Product
This is a Must Have Product for any one with a LCD screen . . . Stills or Video their is no other workable solution for outdoor shooting with LCD screens period . . . and it folds flat in your camera bag and It's easy and fast to put on and put away. I recently bought the Panasonic GH1 that has a tilt out LCD and the first thing you see when you go outdoors is . . . . you can't see anything on the screen! I've used Hoodman products for laptops and stills in the past and now todays still cameras shoot high end FHD video. Not only do I recommend this product but I think it is a Must Have tool to use and you will use it often.
