Don't tell anyone!!

This is the best kept secret in the photoworld!! A buddy of mine has one since Vietnam, after I heard that remark, I had to order one! Then one for my buddy! Can't beat the price! I've been rained on almost every week since football started. I pack garbage bags (for the hard rains), mosquito repellent, extra cards (well protected), press passes, business cards, towels, etc!! This thing rocks!! And I look like a REAL PRO!! No questions at the gate!!

Nice design, not the best quality

I received the vest (XL) as a Christmas gift. The bottom draw string was actually sewn to the vest making adjustment impossible. After wearing it out 3-4 times, the velcro fasteners came off on two of the pockets. I bought another (L) hoping the first was a fluke and I knew I could give the (XL) to my son. The drawstring on the second wasn't sewn in, but had nearly a foot of extra string on each side with nowhere to put it. The velcro started to come un-stitched after opening and closing it 1...

Good design but so so quality.

By

The vest was designed well, very functional and useful. You can carry a lot of stuff that you may need for travel as a photographer. The material used for the vest is OK but the quality of the vest was lower than what I expected. Hope it would last for a while. You pay what you got. I would recommend it as far as you do not carry big lenses, like a 70-200 F2.8, with the vest.

Glad I purchased this vest

Great value/price. It has exceeded my expectations.

Handy

By

I took this out for a walk in the desert and found it much more convenient than the backpack. It allows air flow so it is not hot and stores everything I want to bring along, including water bottles in the back. The material and workmanship are adequate but not high quality, so I expect it will not stand abuse. The price/quality ratio is about right.

Just what I wanted

By

The only complaint is that it is man sized so you have to get a larger size than normal to cover woman's hips and this makes it longer than I like. I have been able to put a 250mm lens in one of the pocket. I was able to go out and shot without taking my camera bag.

function meets comfort

By

I use variety of vest, depending on the shoot requirements, but what is very crucial to me, equipment availability/comfort. This vest does both. I don't over heat carrying lots of equipment, nor do I have to sacrifice how much I can carry. This is especially true in tight spaces that I some time work in. In doors or out. This vest is especially good in hot humid summers such as Georgia's.

CampCo Humvee Combat Photo Vest

By

This vest is still the most superior design available on market (nothing can match it), but material used for the mesh part is not what was previously available when this vest was in a military production. Now nylon mesh is a joke (on three vests from four I tried it was already damaged on a new products, before vests were even used). Until Humvee totally replaces this spider-web thin part with serious durable one, the vest is not practical. I used exclusively this particular design for last 15 years around the world under any possible conditions(having old military version), and I literally beg Humvee to do it right, switching to the military grade durable nylon mesh. Please do it! [In case mesh material varies depending on supply, and if somebody got the good one, please comment and tell where you ordered it -- I need a replacement for mine... Thank you]

Order the right size

By

I would have been more happy with the product if I had ordered the right size. I needed an extra large instead of a large size.

Satified

By

I use it photography and Birding. Plenty of pockets in many sizes. It is light with plenty of room to put over layers when it is cold, but a little big when just wearing a t-shirt. I have had some problems with a couple couple of zippers. I did not have the money to pay $75 to $150 for a photo vest, so this was in my price range and does the job nicely.
