Questions & Answers

Shopper : are the hoya filters unique to a lens brand?DONNA D : I have mine on a Nikkor lens and believe they are generic for all lenses (of course, according to the mm of your camera lens).Andy T : They aren't specific to a brand of lens. You do have to make sure you get the right size, though. With most lenses, you can look at the inside of the lens cap to see the size. Most kit lenses are 52mm.JOHN K : Although Hoya is a Division of Tokina (A lens manufacturer) - they are suited to most types and brands of lenses.hulon d : Is that the diameter measurement across the lens face?DAVID E : No. You just have to make sure you are getting the correct filter thread diameter for your lens. This is a 52mm filter so your lens should have the same thread diameter.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?MICHAEL G : Quality filter. I have had no issues whatsoever.PAUL L : Needed something to protect the lenses for my Nikon D3100.JIMMY S : Quality.

Does what I got it to do

Bought this to protect my 35mm/1.8f lens. Thus far, it's worked without noticeably degrading the image quality.

It's Hoya!

Like I've already said. It's a Hoya! Nothing else I can say except I have never had a moments trouble from anything with their name on it!

Great Filter, Fast Service

Bought this Hoya to protect the 18-55mm lens on my new Nikon D5100. Works great, Hoyas are the best, they are on all my Nikons (D50, D90, D5100). Highly recommended. Adorama shipped super fast, well packed.

Good value

It is as if YOU think the filter is only usefull for video / filming and not for photography!

What a great filter!

I wanted to get one really good 52mm filter because I have a few lenses this size and wow, this is a great filter. It is so clear with virtually no goasting or flares and it's very well made. I'm very happy with it.

Excellent UV Filter

I have used this filter for night performances with stage lighting, during the night with low artificial light around pool scenes, and during the daytime for outdoor portraits type shots and love the results.

Worth every penny

I basically wanted a filter to protect my fast 50. Poked around and found it'd be best to spend $30 and get one that's well-coated. Indoors, this uv filter appears to improve white balance in low light situations, removing some of the orange tint in faces.

good stuff for my 18-55

I use my 18-55 a lot and this Hoya filter is solidly built, with reassuring super clear optics which does not flare up when there are bright light sources in the frame. Compared taking shots with/without the filter and there are no obvious differences in flare. Which means this is an excellent piece of glass![...]

Great filter

Work great. A little hard to clean due to the mult-coating, but I've found if you fog it with your breath, then clean with lens cloth, cleans great.

Protect your lens

I use this filter to protect my lens. Because of the coating, the filter is very clear and does not introduce any unwanted reflections.

Stays out of the way

This filter does what any good UV filter should do, it stays out of the way of the shot and protects the lens.

Great protection

Bought this to protect my 55-200 VR kit lens for a D40. Doesn't degrade photo quality at all, and gives some extra protection to the lens. Will probably get another for my 50mm lens.
