Lens protection
I use a clear protector filter ninety percent of the time on nearly every lens I own. The sensibility of this practice has been supported many times over, as a lens has been protected from various fluid sprays, scratches and other physical damage.
I have been usinf Hoya filters for many years, without a complaint.
Do the (replacement) math, an $800.00-$4,000.00 lens versus a $40.00-$90.00 filter

Performes as designed
I bought this clear lens filter to help keep dirt and dust from entering lens.Filter glass quallity is very good and i did not notice it any degradation in image color and quallity.Sometimes it's very difficult to clean the filter if water gets on the filter and i forget to clean it right away,so its very important to wipe it immediately.Other than that i am very happy with the filter.
