TYLER M : What is the output voltage and amps on this charger?JOE T : On the charger it says "14.4V DC 1.5A".David S : output voltage on the charger is 14.4 V DC amps is 1.5 A. that is what is listed on the charger label Hope that helps!DONALD R : output 14.4V DC 1.5A. I've been satisfied with its ability to charge my 1-d Mark IIN batteries. You MUST connect the battery before you plug it in or it won't charge correctly. That is stated in the directions and I'm reiterating it here. Much cheaper option to OEM charger although it does not have the capacity to discharge the battery before charging.JOE T : That is a good question. I haven't tested it. I don't really know how... I assume it is supposed to be the same as the Canon charger, but then, I've also seen this charger described as a "quick charger" which tells me it might be higher. I've only used it a few times, so I can't tell you what the long-term impact on the batteries is. I can tell you that it definitely charges them, though it seems to think they are done (green light comes on) well before they are actually done. I usually unplug everything and start over like 3 times with each battery to get them fully charged. It also outputs a lot of heat. Not always a good sign. It definitely works though. It charges the darn thing. And it seems to get the batteries full; I've charged each of my batteries twice and I've gotten thousands of shots out of each one, with plenty of use of USM autofocus, which can eat battery life. No use of an image stabilizing lens yet... I bought an EOS-1D Mark II at a used camera shop for three-hundred bucks-- it was so cheap because it came with no charger. I couldn't bring myself to pay four-hundred for the real Canon charger when I paid less than that for the camera itself! I'd say if you have the means and you really want your batteries to last, the safest bet is to buy the OEM charger. Again, I've only had this a few months so I don't know if it's slowly killing my batteries or not and that's definitely a concern. I simply was not in a position to shell out the money for one, so I got this because it works (at least in the short term).

Replacement charger

Small and portable, but it's just not a NC-e3. Good for travel but not for home base use.

Inexpensive alternative

I saw there were a few negative reviews on this charger, but I decided to give it a try anyway. The unit I got has worked flawlessly and has charged my camera's battery completely each time I've used it. To me, this has been well worth the price which is 1/3rd of the OEM charger!

Inexpensive alternative

recently bought an EOS 1D Mk II N, no charger, and found this aftermarket one for little $$. Decided to take a chance on it since original Canon chargers for this camera are upwards of a couple hundred if new. so far, have had no problems charging the battery, seems to be pretty reliable and gives a full charge in about 2 hours

Nice travel charger

It came with a used 1D series camera I bought. At first I was expecting the Canon charger as the decreption included battery and charger. But I already have a Canon one, that handles two batteries at a time, and has added features, but this aftermarket one is nice to have also since it fits in my camera bag since it is much smaller then the Canon one.

Amazing Deal

Amazing Deal... Called my local camera shop for the Canon charger and was shocked at how much it was going to cost, almost more than the camera is worth.
