Plugs direct into the wall socket, no power cord to worry with. Charges quickly and comes with an automobile cable to charge your batteries on the road. Does what it is supposed to do, does it well and is a very reasonable price. Hard combination to beat. My only complaint is about all battery charges and that is every camera has a different charger. If you travel with three cameras bodies as I do, you have to have three chargers and three sets of batteries. Now this one makes four just to have a small point and shoot along for snapshots. But that is not the fault of the battery charger, it is great, it is the manufacture that make the problem.

I bought this kit for a vacation that I'll be going on in early July. I wanted the kit because it has a 'car' charger to use if your battery runs out & you're not near an electrical outlet. So far the base charger that plugs in to an outlet works fine. I charged my spare battery with it today to make sure it worked. It did! Next I'll put the 'car' charger part to the test. When I try the car charger, I will leave another comment in reference to that item. The kit came with a "european" plug as well, but I doubt that I'll need that, but it's good to have just in case.
